Yes… you read that right! It’s a write-up of recommendations but it has no parameters- no specific genre, or character type or actor or director or era… nope… these are movies selected completely at random because why not? Everyone likes variety, to see something different from last time, to experience something new… a story you never tried.
So going with our motto of ‘Something for Everyone’, here we are dear readers with a list of random movies that are good to watch one after the other because of how much ground they cover! From somber life stories to hilarious fight backs, from fantasy to grim reality and everything bizarre in between- these movies will entertain you, make you think, laugh, maybe cry, all in their own way.
So without further ado, here are the flicks we chose for you –

THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTONSee the source image

One of a kind, this movie tells the story of a man who ages backward. Born with a body that has the condition of an eighty-year-old, Benjamin grows up differently from everyone around him. But as he ages, he gets younger… and younger. A truly interesting storyline and actors who did justice to their characters… The Curious Case of Benjamin Button released in 2008 is a must-watch movie.

A WALK TO REMEMBERSee the source image

This 2002 that is adapted from a book of the same name by Nicholas Sparks is fairly well-liked and though the story is somewhat predictable, it was beautifully made. The characters’ interactions, the feelings, the music everything comes together perfectly in this story of love, loss, and growth. Sounds typical, doesn’t it? But don’t worry the movie is much better than my description.

DEAD POETS SOCIETYSee the source image

Ah… one of my personal favorites! Dead Poets Society, starring Robin Williams is one of the classics and absolutely must-watch. In the past 30 years, since it was released in 1989, this movie has inspired countless people to follow their dreams with a single motto- ‘Carpe Diem’ or Seize the Day!

CRAZY RICH ASIANSSee the source image

I know again a popular choice but you seriously can’t miss this one. So if you haven’t seen Crazy Rich Asians yet… what are you waiting for? It is just so entertaining, and with hilarious moments yet full of heart-breaking and awe-inspiring moments as well. This movie has just about everything!

LEGALLY BLONDESee the source image

Old but must watch… I consider it a classic. I mean a woman who grows out of the shadow of the man she loved and found her own identity, her own calling? A self-empowering movie starring Reese Witherspoon, it is truly an interesting and entertaining yet inspiring film. I mean I watched it a number of times already and still can’t get over it. Also Ariana Grande referenced to this movie quite a few times in the music video of her song ‘Thank You Next’ which again is a total bop.

PENELOPESee the source image

A twist on the concept of ‘True Love’ with a fantasy-like setting but don’t misunderstand this movie is as real as it gets. We have a ‘cursed princess’ but this one doesn’t wait around for her ‘prince’ in shining armor. Instead, she accepts who she is and decides to live her life her own way. No matter how everyone else sees her. As my badly told summary implies this is a rom-com and a good one too!

THE LEGO NINJAGO MOVIESee the source image

There are a few LEGO movies out there but Ninjago is my absolute favourite and I recommend everyone to watch it. It’s funny and has Jackie Chan! Ain’t that convincing enough?

COCOSee the source image

Let me cry first….
Okay! I love Coco, an animated movie released in 2017 and yes, almost everyone has seen it but I still added it because it is just so good! Go and re-watch it…. now. And don’t forget to sing along with Remember Me… go now… hurry… shoo shoo.

SPYSee the source image

Spy, 2015, action movie, hilarious and we have Melissa McCarthy here. Enough reasons right? I really liked this movie because of how well balanced it was in terms of action, drama, mystery, crisis and comic elements.

DISNEY’S DESCENDANTSSee the source image

And how can a list of must-watch random movies be complete without a recommendation from Disney? Descendants have all the elements of a proper Disney movie complete with songs, self-discovery, and crisis at the end but it all gets a new turn because the leads here are people you would imagine the least- the children of four of the most notorious Disney villains! Kids of Maleficent, Jafar, Evil Queen from Snow White and Cruella De Vil all come to the perfect kingdom of Auradon to study alongside the kids of all the Disney prince and princesses… yep, a pretty good watch.
