48 DIE AS THE ILL FATED BUS FALLS IN A 45 METRE DEEP TRENCH IN GARHWAL, UTTARAKHAND

There is an extremely shocking news again in the accident prone Garhwal, Uttarakhand where a bus full of passengers fell in a 65 metres deep trench after the ill fated driver lost the control of the bus. About 48 persons are believed to have died on the spot after having been grievously wounded and bodies being mutilated after repeated fall against the rocks and trees. The bus full of about more than 60 passengers was heading towards Ram Nagar from Pauri Bamnaunisain.

The unfortunate driver of the ill fated bus however lost the control near Gweel village and fell into the deep trench killing 48 commuters on the spot while seriously injured several others. The area of the accident falls under Nainidanda block of Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The police and the national disaster relief force task force have been hurriedly disptached to the accident spot and the dead bodies are being retrieved.

The 12 grievously unjured have been shifted to the nearby hospital in Dhumakot for immediate treatment. The exact cause of the death has however not been revealed by now as an inquiry has been ordered to seek the reasons behind the cause of the death. It may be recalled that the unfortunate incidents of road accidents particularly of overcrowded buses are on the increse in Uttarakhand.

There is an accident on every third day in Uttarakhand with several casualties. The reason behind these accidents is usually the buses being overcrowded. In the above case as well the private bus having the capacity of merely 28 numbers was over crowded and may be one of the reasons for the driver losing the control due to its having become imbalanced.
