Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha’s present executive body gets one year extention with a unanimous voice vote in its AGM
The annual general body meeting of the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha held at Garhwal Bhawan, Panchquin Road, New Delhi on Sunday, the 24th February took a unanimous decision by a voice vote to extend the present executive committee led by its president Mohabbat Singh Rana for a period of one more year as lots of works are still pending to be completed.
The annual general meeting attended by good number of participants who are the registered members of Garhwal Hitaishinin Sabha ( Regd) the biggest representative body of the inhabitants of Garhwal, Uttarakhand in Delhi passed the decision by unanimously raising up their hands in affirmation.
The proposal for extention of the current executive committee was brought out by the senior member n the former president of GHS Chandra Pal Singh Rawat which was later on okayed n unanimously stamped by the members present on the ocassion as well as several speakers who spoke in the annual general body meeting.
The basic logic behind this move was that since the present body of the Garhwal Hitheshini Sabha is doing a yeomen service for the society it would be in the larger public interest to give them one more year to fulfill the incomplete tasks n also to save the futile n uselrss expenses that would be involved or incurred in the election exercise.
The expenses / money thus saved can be utilised for the betterment n good of the organisation rather than wasting it on the election provess. Majority of the members also dwelt on the need to amend the contitition n extend the tenure from one year to two year as one year is too short a tenure not enough to carry on or execute the various socio developmental works of the society.
The present body is represented by Mohabbat Singh Rana as its President, Pawan Maithani as General Secretary, Narendra Singh Negi as Vice president, Ajay Singh Bisht as Joint Secretary and Rajesh Rana as treasurer. The body also includes several advisors and an executive committe of about two dozen members.
There are several cades running in various Delhi courts filed by the rivals on various charges including few cases against a sale wala, owner of a showroon who is not vacating the first floor premises of the Garhwal Bhawan. In addition the New delhi Municipal Council has also slapped a penalty of several lakhs on the building which is engaged in social work.
However the present executive committee had approached the Vice chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Council with a plea to rectify the house tax issue and grant maximum leniency as GHS is purely a social organisation carrying social welfare n philanthropic activities helping, supporting and assisting the hapless, poor, needy people, patients n the meritorious students apart from promoting n conserving the socio cultural heritage of Uttarakhand Himalay in the capital city of Delhi.
The vice chairman of NDMC Karan Singh Tanwar has assured the delegation of Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha of all possible help and cooperation in this context. The present executive committee has been lauded for the outstanding work n performance during its last tenure in the context of doing various pioneering works n as such granted a year’s extention with a unanimous support in the annual general house.
The general secretary of GHS Pawan Maithani read the report of achievements of the year amid applauds from the audience while the treasurer read the report of the balance sheet of the organisation. The president Mohabbat Singh Rana thanked the members of their support n cooperation and assured them of the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha’s pioneering contribution to the people n members in the future.
