The recommendation of the Ayodhya dispute to a three member panel under Justice Khallilulah with senior advocate Panchu n Sri Sri Ravishankar of Art of living as its members for mediation within a fixed period of eight weeks is being welcomed by almost all the stakeholders but also being termed as an exercise to procrastinate the issue by terming it as incongruous efforts.

After the demolition of the Babri masjid in 1992 and the eruption of riots thereafter at the pan India level while the country has suffered tremendous loss in terms of lives n property this vexed issue of Ram Janmabhoomi Babri masjid has also witnessed the emergence of polarisation politics in the name of religion and communities which has in true sense divided n disturbed the secular fabric of the country with certain political parties coming to power at the centre and the states exploiting this issue to the hilt thus playing with the peoples’ sentiments by the leaders of both the communities.

Such issues in the name of religious fundamentalism has far reaching implications which not only disturb n destroy the transparent communal fabric of the country by engineering riots but also debar the over all progress of the country to a great extent.

It’s almost 26 years since the eruption of this dispute after the Babri Masjid demolition and even before that when the locks of the Ram Lalla temple were unlocked during the era of late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, the vexed matter is still unresolved with the chief justice of Supreme Court Ranjan Gogoi finally wanting to resolve it through both party mediation out of the court, forbidding media to report its proceedings n also asking the parties involved in the negotiation to not let the media know about what is going to be deliberated inside the four walls in Faizabad.

Sounds good n satisfying as there is nothing better than the negotiated out of court settlement of such an issue of vital national interest in which the sentiments of both the minority and the majority communities are involved.

While the religious heads of both the communities except few are unanimous in appreciating the apex court’s decision on out of court settlement of Ram Janma bhoomi Babri Masjid dispute ( if possible) there are still several fundamentalist leaders n disgruntled elements on both sides who are still obstinate and adamant to stick to their earlier communal stands terming this as an exercise in futility n an incongrous effort.

It’s not necessary now to name them as people of the country know them on tips. Just yesterday I was watching the brief interview of the former union minister Uma Bharti who unambiguously said that while she welcomes the apex court’s decision but the Hindus’ have the previleged right to construct the Ram Temple at Ayodhya and that no power on earth can stop them to built the Mandir.

The point is that if responsible politicians like her would utter such sentences in public knowing very well that the matter is subjudiced and has been for now sent for mediation between the stakeholders of both the parties involved then how can an amicable settlement to this vexed issue could be arrived at. Similarly there had been bad mouthing from the other side as well.

If you see the ongoing television debates these days the religious n political heads from both the communities are testing their lung power n still spitting venom against each other knowing very well that if such bad mouthing continues unabated from both the sides question of resolution of this protracted issue is not possible at all.

The general elections are round the corner and the code of conduct is likely to be issued within a week’s time. The political parties particularly those who are closely associated with the issue wanted to use it to their fullest advantage to derive peoples’ support polarising the vote banks on religious consideration, which is really unbecoming of them.

Time has come now to show big heart and arrive at amicable negotiated settlements to such vexed issues as India is more engulfed in the national security matters with the neighbouring country Pakistan n its terrorists are trying to destabilise Kashmir through its destructive activities creating a hindu muslim devide.

Entire India knows what has happened in Pulwama n how are brave n valiant soldiers are sacrificing their precious lives to safeguard our borders n fighting terrorists hell bent upon creating havoc inside J& K.

In view of this it would be in the wider interest of the nation to maintain communal harmony in the country and resolve the Ram Janmabhoomi matter as soon as possible most amicably n with unanimity.

Eight weeks time is enough to resolve it as it’s more than enough now. If things arrive at an amicable solution it’s fine n for everybody’s best, lest the honourable supreme court is the final deliever of justice to which shall adhere all the stakeholders n the hindu muslim brothers n sisters.

As nothing is above Supreme Court n our constitution n the tranquility, integrity, unity, communal harmony and safety n security of the country is supreme than anything else. What’s your take friends?
