I have no grudge against BJP leadership. Son’s decision to join Congress was his own. Can even campaign against him if asked for.

The former union minister in Vajpayee’s govt, former CM UK n the current MP from Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha constituency has no grudge about his son Manish Khanduri going into the fold of the Congress party saying that it was his son’s own discreation but as far as he ( B C Khanduri) is concerned, he would serve the party with full dedication as he had been doing since 1991 when he joined the saffron party after retirement from the Indian Army.

Khanduri said everybody has their own ideology n choice. Even if I will have to campaign against my son on my party banner I will do so.

Responding to the questions from the ANI correspondent after his son’s joining the Congress party on 16th in the presence of Congress chief Rahul Gandhi, Major general retired Khanduri said that he has no grudge with his son as it was his own personal decision nor had the BJP done anything wrong or unjustifiable with him as being talked about.

Though bit reluctant to say anything against the party Khanduri refuted Rahul Gandhi’s charge about his ( Khanduri’s) insult by the party by shunting him out of the Defence Committee of Parliament saying that this is not the appropriate time to say on this, nor the context, nor necessary as nothing of the sort happened. Though small things/ differences do happen. He said if one is in the job, minor differences do occur as everybody has his or her own view points.

Khanduri took Rahul’s allegations that Khanduri has been insulted by depriving him of the membership of Defence Cimmittee on Parliament is incorrect as every political party exploit the situation to its advantage and so is Rahul doing. What’s unusual about it?

Khanduri said the party has given lot to him and he has and would be doing everything that is asked to do by the party high command in future. I am a committed BJP soldier n have tremendous regard n respect for the Defence forces n Army as well. I am a Fauzi as I have served the Army for the last three decades added Khanduri.

Therefore there is no point of having any differences with the government on matters pertaining to defence. He even said that her daughter who is MLA from Yamkeshwar Legislative Assembly got the BJP ticket on her own as he had flatly refused her to help. In fact he was trying for the candidature of some other woman but if the party allocates her the ticket despite my refusal that what can I do? he added.

Khanduri seemed to be very cautious answering to ANI’s query but indeed looked worried for having been sidelined in the party but looked confident as well. The vedio of ANI is going viral in the social media.

It may be recalled that the BJP high command had send the Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and the Uttarakhand Party Chief Ajay Bhatt to Khanduri’s Delhi residence to cajole n appease him as the latter seemed to have been annoyed with the party leadership. But despite both the leaders having tried their best to cajole Khanduri n request him to prohibit Manish join the Congress party didn’t worked.
