However in both the cases late Gandhi got a clean chit, one by the apex court regarding his unambiguous acquittal in Bofors and two, denial of the PM’s charge of misusing INS Virat by the then Naval chiefs.
The statements of prime minister had created a lot of furor n controversies in the Congress corridors and political circles of India with Priyanka Gandhi retorting that she had not seen such a coward and weak prime minister during her entire lifetime.
However, her brother and Congress chief Rahul Gandhi had also been using highly derogatory remarks like CHOWKIDAR chor hai for which he had to seek a written apology in the apex court.
Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi, the only daughter of her late father Rajiv Gandhi has also paid her tributes by visiting Veer Bhumi early morning and posting an emotional poem AGNIPATH in praise of her father written by eminent poet Harivanshrai Bachchan. The caption of her tweet is: YOU WILL ALWAYS BE MY HERO. It may be recalled that late prime minister Rajiv Gandhi was assassinated by the LTTE suicide bombers in Sriperumbudur, forty kilometers away from Chennai where he had gone for election campaigning on 21st May, 1991 on the request of former MP n union minister Jayanthi Natarajan.
