Golden Jubilee Celebration of Dr Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical: Day 1

One of the premier Homoeopathic Medical College of the country, Dr Abhin Chandra Homoeopathic Medical College and Hospital, Unit III, Bhubaneswar turned 50 and celebrated its Golden Jubilee in a ceremonious way on 23^rd and 24^th November 2019. This institution has earned a very good repute in the field of Homoeopathic education, not only in the state but also all over the nation. This is the first Government Homoeopathic Medical College of the country established in the year 1969. After the inception of Odisha Homoeopathic act in 1956, Orissa Board of Homoeopathic medicine was constituted and this board took active initiation to erect this institution. To start with, this institution functioned at Udyan Marg, Bhubaneswar in a rented building and subsequently shifted to its own building at Kharvel Nagar in 1974.

Inauguration of Golden Jubilee was done by Sj. Naba Kishore Das, Honourable Minister, health and Family Welfare, Odisha. Prof. (Dr.) Ashok Kumar Mohapatra, Former Director, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar attended this session as Chief Speaker and honourable MLA, Bhubaneswar, Central, Sj. Ananta Narayan Jena attended as Guest of Honour.

On this occasion, one Golden Jubilee Memorial Pillar was unveiled by the honourable minister and simultaneously inaugurated e-Hospital project of attached 50 bedded Homoeopathic Hospital, established in the year 1968.

A colourful Souvenir was also inaugurated by the Chief Guest Dr Naba Kishor Das, President of the Golden Jubilee celebration committee presided over this session and Prof. (Dr.) Sudheer Kumar Das, Principal of organisation and Chairman, Organising committee presented welcome address and Dr Jivan Krishna Pattanaik, Organising secretary presented his report with a detailed history of this institution. Dr Rajendra Kumar Das, Finance secretary presented a vote of thanks to the dignitaries and audiences.

All the dignitaries emphasized the relevance of Homoeopathic treatment for the present-day world and praised its patient-friendly treatment system without any serious adverse reaction and holistic way of treatment along with its cost-effectiveness. This system is the second most popular system of treatment all over the globe should get proper Government patronage. Role of this institution to produce quality homoeopaths was highly praised.
