The nation salutes both these valiant soldiers who have laid down their precious lives for the country while fighting the terrorists in Avantipora Kashmir in extremely challenging situations and inclement weather conditions. According to the latest news, a joint operation was carried out by the CRPF, Rashtriya Rifles and the Jammu Kashmir police and the encounter happened in Satpokhran Khrew of Awantipora region. The cross-firing continued for several hours in which two Army Jawans and two terrorists were killed. The firing was so intense that additional forces had to be called during the operation.

This operation was carried out a day after the hurling of bombs in Pulwama district by the militants in which there was no harm or loss to human lives and property. The bombs were hurled by the terrorists in Newa, Pulwama near a bunker with fortunately no casualties or damage to army property. It’s indeed worrisome that the militancy in Jammu and Kashmir is on the incessant rise despite the withdrawal of article 370 in the state and deployment of massive army and security forces. It may be recalled that the martyred soldiers’ elder brother is also in the Kumaon Regiment of the Indian Army and is currently stationed in Lucknow. He was recruited in the year 2009.
