Fifteenth Uttarayani was celebrated at Palam Delhi

Fifteenth Uttarayani was celebrated at Palam Delhi today organized by Parvatiya Lok Vikas Sammittee and several other organizations.

Outstanding contributors in sports, journalism, literature, theatre, music, social service, and teaching were felicitated with Himalaya Gaurav, Uttarakhand Gaurav, and Delhi Gaurav Awards.  A seminar in this mesmerizing cultural evening in which eminent professors and journalists spoke on the topic: prevalence of discipline in the colleges and university campuses. Padamshree and eminent singer of Uttarakhand known as Jagar Samraat performed with his team of artists and musicians entertaining hundreds of audiences to the fullest.

The junior shooting star who bagged golds and silver medals for the country in India and abroad Devanshi Rana and her grandfather and Dronacharya Awardee Narayan Singh Rana and Arjun Awardee Chaya Adak were also felicitated on this occasion along with educationist, Dr. Lohani, Ramesh Mumukshu, environmentalist, Rakhi Bisht, Vinod Nautiyal, Sanjay Sharma, sr. advocate supreme court and several others by Padmashree Pritam Bhartwan and Dr. Surya Prakash Semwal, chief organizer of the show. Hundreds of audience witnessed the mesmerizing evening of melodious songs and Jagar of Dr. Pritam Bhartwan, the most celebrated singer of Uttarakhand and danced to his mesmerizing songs and melodious musical tunes. It may be recalled that Dr. Surya Prakash Semwal, president of Parvatiya Lol Vilas Sammittee has been organizing Uttarayani since 2005 in Delhi which has now become a national and international movement associating it with environment, hygiene, culture, education, and ethics of the Himalayan traditions, which further paved the way for the formation of Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsaari Academy in Delhi despite the fact these languages have not been included in the eighth schedule of the constitution.

The BJP has accorded the maximum two tickets to Pahari candidates in Delhi this time while the Congress has obliged a single Pahari while AAP has not given a single ticket out of 70 annoying the massive Pahari vote bank in the capital.

Sunil Negi hails from Uttarakhand and is a veteran journalist and author. He is a prolific writer and has carved a name for himself in the media world. He received the 'Golden Achiever Award' in the '90th AIAC Excellence Awards 2019' for his book ''Havoc in Heaven'' based on the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand in which thousands of people lost their lives. He is also the President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum and majorly writes on Politics, Current Affairs, and Social Issues.
