Garhwal FC and Jamshedpur FC match ends in a tie in their face-off in Delhi today

Today was Garhwal FC’s third match of the I-League Second Division and being a home game, it was held at the Ambedkar Stadium in New Delhi against Jamshedpur FC in front of an excited crowd that supported Garhwal FC with absolute passion and vigor.

Garhwal’s first goal came from Philip Victor in the 19th minute as he diligently converted a pass from the midfield that came in defeating Jamshedpur’s defense line. Once Philip received the pass, there was no stopping him from solely yet flawlessly converting the pass into Garhwal’s first goal.

The second goal for Garhwal was scored in the 36th minute by Jersey No. 11 through a concerted effort from the half-line which was brilliantly penetrated through Jamshedpur’s defense wall by Jersey No. 11 and was meticulously converted into a goal. Three minutes into the second half, Jamshedpur got a penalty which was successfully converted it into a goal. In the dying minutes of the additional time at the end of the second half, Jamshedpur was again awarded a penalty which was converted into a much-needed equalizer for the opponents.

According to Kajal Negi, while the first half was dominated by Garhwal and was characterized by multiple attacks as part of an offensive play, the second half proved to be a critical one for Jamshedpur as they made a valiant comeback from 2-0 down to finish the match with a score of 2-2. Though Garhwal was impressive in the first 45 minutes of the match, its performance in the second half was lackluster as they gave away the lead, missed multiple opportunities and were relatively lax against the fight put up by the opponents. Garhwal’s light approach in the second half and Jamshedpur’s spirited attacks consequently led to a tie which could comfortably have been a win for Garhwal. As a result, Garhwal had to settle with a single point from the match.

However, the team looks forward to the next match against Rajasthan FC on the 16th of February at Ambedkar Stadium. As always, no match is complete without the love and support of the fans.
