When we think of going on a vacation, the first thing that comes to our minds is how to manage the budget. Many of us delay our vacations in the fear that it will cost us a lot of money and set us back on our budgets uncertainly. But India has a lot of cheap travel destinations to offer! Whether you are a college student looking for a group trip, or a working professional looking to go solo, here is a list of budget-friendly places you can travel to next!

Kasol, Himachal Pradesh. The Amsterdam of India:

Set in the mountains, this small village has been gaining a lot of popularity among teenagers as a vacation hub. If you love to trek, this is the place for you. Backpackers and nature maniacs hoard here in multitudes. The village offers hotel bookings starting at marginal prices. Anytime between October and June works best for a visit!

Kodaikanal, TN. The princess of Hill stations:

This place is something out of a dream. It has a soothing climate and clouds cascade the mountains like fluffy cotton candy! Beautiful clear lakes bejewel the lands and beautiful valleys beckon you to itself. Dreamy, isn’t it? Green valley view and Kodai lake are special attractions. Don’t forget to visit the Bear Shola Falls! Visit between September and May to fully experience its beauty.

Darjeeling, WB. Queen of the Himalayas:

The first thing worth mentioning is the amazing Chai they have. All chai-lovers would love to flock there. It has cheaply prized hotels and lodges making it a budget-friendly locality. But it doesn’t compromise the beauty of the destination. It has the old-world charm to mesmerize you if that sails your boat. You will be enchanted with the sunset views, amazing locales and the beauty of the place in general. The best time to visit would be between February to march and September to December.

Pushkar, Rajasthan. Land of Lord Brahma:

It is a cultural hotspot owing to its festivities and atmosphere. Pushkar is primarily a pilgrimage place as it has the only temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. It has many budget-friendly hotels that offer cheap booking. You will save a dime vacationing here! You should visit from October to march.

Gokarna, Karnataka. Real of palm trees, blue seas, and golden sands:

It is the home of the Mahabaleswar Temple. Due to this, Gokarna is a Hindu pilgrimage town. But don’t worry it has plenty of fun things to do. With amazing beaches, breathtaking landscapes, it is a newly found haunt for hippies and beach junkies. The beaches here will wrap you in their beauty and make you want to settle there! Homestays start at as low as INR 200. Budget-friendly, am I right? Best part? This place is at its best no matter what time of the year you visit!

Pondicherry, TN. The French Riviera:

It is a little town on the south-east coast of the country. It has beautiful beaches and aesthetic sceneries. Pomdicherry truly is a heaven for travelers. Both in terms of views and budget-friendly places. Though there are many luxury resorts here to stay, you can live in Aurobindo Ashram. They offer almost free meals and stay. It promises you sanctity and serenity away from the humdrum madness of your everyday lives. The best time to visit is anytime between October to march.
