Sounds irritating and shocking that the so called intellectuals of the country and one of the iconic personalities’ who’ve been bestowed with internationally significant, most prestigious and coveted awards like The Noble Peace Prize and that too for working in the field of rescuing trafficked children and child labour Dr. Kailash Satyarthi is conspicuous by his absence on issues such as the most obnoxious and dastardly gang rape and subsequent murder of the 8 year old Asifa in Jammu’s Kathua inviting national and international outrage.

While various political parties of diffrent hues and ideologies are trying to give this sensitive issue a pure political colour with the vested aims to corner political mileage, the honourable judiciary is earnestly doing its job to punish the guilty, the matter being currently subjudice.

Whenever there is a critical situation existing in the country due to complex and sensitive issues of women and innocent children, especially the girl child being shamefully molested, raped or butally murdered, the country expects stalwarts like Noble Peace Prize winner Dr. Kailash Sathyarthi and several other to come forward and take the cudgels of such sensitive issues in their hands to ensure that the hardened criminals, gruesome rapists and murderers do not go scot free and are tried under the strictest sections of the law.

Not only this but there presence is also solicited to exert pressure on authorities concerned and respective governments in case they act in a partisan manner or on fabricated grounds to help the culprits. This is a crucial time and due intervention of such highly regarded and internationally recognized iconic personalities in such ghastly gangrapes and murders of innocent minor is the need of the hour. Society needs them to come forward as real saviours of the oppressed and victimsed children like Asifa who become the target of communal elements and get lynched so brutally and gangraped as well. Dr. Sathyarthi is reverred and recognised as the true saviour of hapless, poor, victimised and exploited children and therefore his intervention in matters pertaining to crime against children and women is not only inevitable and mandatory but also a healthy sign of mobilising and motivating more and more intelectuals and social activists tocome forward at the rescue of the brutal victims who lose their dignity and precious lives for no fault of theirs.

In addition presense of such iconic personalities is also required to ably guide the society and people including the political parties if they create a communal divide in the society to favour the culprits of such heinous crimes as happened in Kathua. Why we are talking here about Dr. Kailash Sathyarthy is because he’d been the champion of the cause of the trafficked and oppressed children for years and carries behind an outstanding track record as their saviour.

National and international coveted awards and recognitions are not bestowed for keeping the prestigious trophies on show stands but these honours gives you authority to stand for such causes in the future in order to protect the oppressed, depressed and the ghastly victims of the dastardly crime that unfortunately happened with the 8 year old innocent Asifa in Jammu’s Kathua area.

I most heartily respect Dr. Kailash Sathyarthi for his outstanding contribution in safeguarding the lives of hundreds of hapless, poor and battered street children but my urge to him is that he should continue his mission unabatedly even today especially when brutal gang rapes and murder of Asifas’ shamefully take place in our country.
