Bollywood mourns the death of former Prime Minister of India Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee
The Bharat Ratna and former prime minister Atal Bihari Bajpayee, who has been breathed his last today (Thursday August 18) in AIIMS.
All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was confirmed the news and issued a statement on the same. In the statement, it was written that the time of death was 5:05 pm.
The 93-year-old leader was admitted to AIIMS on July 11, 2018, with urinary track infection. Earlier AIIMS had issued a statement earlier that his health had deteriorated in the last 24 hours and that he was put on life support.
A leading poet, writer, thinker, orator and a veteran leader Vajpayee is the tallest leader in the BJP. He first became prime minister in 1996. He was also the president of Jana Sangh and is the first non Congress PM to have run the BJP led NDA government for full five year term.
With his demise Bollywood celebs too have been expressing their grief through social media handles.
South megastar Rajinikanth offered his condolences and tweeted, “I’m saddened to hear the demise of a great statesman Shri Vajpayee ji. May his soul Rest in Peace.” These celebrities remembered his much-loved poetic streak.
