The Apex court of the country today in one of its landmark verdicts’ legalised the gay sex allowing homosexuality thus decriminalising it.

The Supreme Court has today given a revolutionery decision on the same sex decriminalising it thus giving huge relief to the LGBT community throughout India.

According to the counsel for the LGBT community Advocate Grover fighting for decriminalising same sex for the last 21 years termed the decision of the apex court as historic and said that homosexuality is not a criminal activity nor is it an activity of a deranged mind. Gay sex amongst the consenting adults is not criminal ordered the supreme court.

The court has given the LGBT community the freedom and legality for the consensual same sex within the four walls but has held it illegal and against law practicing it in the public places.

The entire LGBT community has celebrated the decision of Apex court by merry making , dancing and singing.

There are approximately about 4.6 lakh LGBT in the country. It may be recalled that under article 377 devised during the British era Homosexuality was considered as unnatural and a criminal act and was being opposed since more than two decades by the gays.

The Congress leader and former union minister Shash Tharoor has hailed the verdict of the apex court by saying that nobody has the right to infringe on the rights of persons on the basis of gender inequality.

Freedom of sex within the same gender can’t be termed as a criminal or unnatural act when it is consensual and within the four walls he added. He termed the verdict as progressive and heartily welcomed it.

The BJP leader and senior Advocate n former law minister Dr. Subramaniam Swamy spoke against the Apex courts verdict calling it a verdict against an unnatural act which is not in consonance with the natural, dignified and cultural traditions of India.

However no senior or junior leader of the Bhartiya Janata Party or Congress have issued any statement or tweet welcoming or opposing the apex court verdict on article 377 decriminalising the same sex and aloowing the gay sex within four walls terming it as legal as used to be earlier when the leaders of both these parties used to tweet before time downgrading each other on every single important issue.

Actually every party and its leader wants to keep itself aside from this issue as it more or less concerns a very small population of the country hardly affecting the vote bank politics.
