A family member of the deceased in Mosul Iraq should be given a govt job and adequate financial compensation

The gruesome killings of 39 Indians in Mosul, Iraq is a most shocking and anguishing chapter in Indian political scenerio as the government of the day or had there been any other government could have done nothing except shockingly reveal this most grief striken statement in Parliament about their sad and tortuous end as done by the Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj in Lok Sabha.

There can’t be any big tragedy than this as the bread winners of 39 hapless, distressed poor families have not only been most mercilessly killed in Mosul by ISIS but have also rendered their families in the state of immense lurch and financial quandary. Most of those killed were young and have school going children, hapless wives and old aged parents suffering from various ailments. There have been instances that after few days and months such tragic incidents are forgotton completely and all the so called assurances of financial support or jobs to the sons, daughters or wives of the deceased by government are wiped out from the govt’s priorities or scheme of things.

One should not forget that majority of these killed were working in Mosul Iraq in petty jobs in a company and were sending money orders to their families in India for survival. After these 39 dead were declared missing since the last 3/ 4 years their families survived amidst tremendous challenges and dearth of money having no other earning member in the family. They were surviving on hopes and optimism that one day their husbands, sons, fathers or brothers will come back and look after their needs. But everything dashed with a bang when the Indian external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj revealed about their confirmned deaths in the Lok Sabha to the utter dismay, dispair, surprise and shock of all the lawmakers.

It’s now the duty of the state governments and majorly the union government to look after the financial welfare of these families in distress who’ve not only lost their most lovable sons, husbands, fathers or brothers but also the sole bread winner on whose earning these families were surviving. The government should financially compensate these distressed families adequately and provide at least one government job in each family. It’s undoubtedly true that no amount of financial compensation can compensate for the deaths in Mosul, Iraq but on can’t deny the fact that for survival and sustenance of families in financial crunch monetary support and regular income is a hard fact of life.

The government should ensure that the families of the Mosul deceaseds’ acknowledge enough financial assistence, a government job to each family member and counselling so as to enable them resurrect their lives and move ahead with zeal and enthusiasm towards achieving progress and prosperity in their respective lives.
