Akshay Kumar to play the baddie in Kamal Haasan’s ‘Indian 2’ ?

Akshay Kumar, who was last seen as the antagonist in Shankar’s 2.0 starring Rajinikanth, may be in for an encore. We hear that the Pad Man actor will be playing a negative role yet again in the filmmaker’s Indian 2. This project will be a sequel to Shankar’s 1994-superhit Indian, which starred Kamal Haasan. The poster of the movie was released on Tuesday.
Interestingly, Shankar had initially approached Ajay Devgn for a pivotal role in the movie. Apparently, the Raid actor was offered the part of a cop. “Both, Ajay and Kamal, were keen to collaborate on this film. However, for various reasons, including his prior commitments, Ajay couldn’t come on board,” says our source.
The source adds, “Akshay and Shankar, who became good friends by the time 2.0 was wrapped, had reportedly spoken about working together again when something suitable came their way. And looks like that has happened soon after the film’s release.”
