Amit Shah has many challenges ahead

The newly appointed number two in the union cabinet of NDT part 2 government led by prime minister Narendra Modi, Amit Shah today joined his office at North Block for the very first time and accepted bouquets from his senior office staff n secretary home etc.

Union Home minister Amit Shah was introduced to all the senior officers of ministry of home n would be holding the first round of meeting with senior bureaucrats to kick start his new innings as important number 2 minister in Modi governmet, the position held during the previous regime by Rajnath Singh who has been given the significant defence portfolio.

It is learnt that Rajnath Singh is not too happy with defence n wanted to retain his home ministry portfolio. However, he too has today formally joined his office as defence minister after paying floral tributes to the martyred jawans at India Gate alongwith the three service chiefs.

Extremely confident, prime minister Narendra Modi’s four decades’ old trusted associate n home minister in the government of Gujarat for five years during Narendra Modi’s chief ministership before 2014, Amit Shah has been inducted as Home Minister by the former as a gift for his untiring efforts n perfect planning to win historically at the hustings for the second time in succession.

Sources reveal that Amit Shah was not that interested n wanted to continue as the party chief but Modi’s pressure n gesture to make him number two compelled Amit Shah to accept the new offer.

Being a chanakya of BJP, an outstanding organisor, dashing leader and holding experience in technical expertise to strengthen the party up to booth level finally leading the saffron party to landslide victory twice at the centre n in states as well, Amit Shah’s elevation as union home minister is quite a challenging one.

He has to show his exemplary performance on several fronts especially to ensure free n fair assembly elections in Jammu n Kashmir, to strongly counter terrorism n stone pelters in strife torn Kashmir, devise strategy to guard our international borders in order to reduce sneaking of Pak sponsored terrorists in Indian territory, countering Pakistan shellings n cross border violations, stringently dealing with the naxalite menace in Jharkhand, Chattisgarh, Garh Chiroli Maharashtra n Orrissa.

The issues of abrogation of article 370 n 35 A from Kashmir are also the pre election commitments of the saffron party on which he will have to exhibit his political dexterity in order to ensure that Jammu n Kashmir remains the integral part of India.

Though the Ram Mandir question is in the Apex court but being the BJP’s key issue in order to appease the majority community also gaining the confidence of the minorities simultaneously on this protractedvexed issue, the role of Home minister Amit Shah assumes more n greater significance.

Amit Shah has congratulated prime minister Narendra Modi for approving major changes in the PMs’ Scholarship Scheme under the National Defence fund.

In a tweet he added that it reflects Modi government’s sensitivity n commitment towards ensuring the well being of those who protect our nation against all odds. He also thanked prime minister Modi for including him in number two position in the union cabinet.
