Anna Hazare file PIL against Sharad Pawar claims scam of 25000 crore
Famous Social activist Anna Hazare has moved to Bombay high court where he has filed PIL for sugar cooperative factories scam which is of about Rs 25000 crore. In fact he has filed two civil PILs and one criminal PIL for seeking a CBI investigation.
The hearing for the case will be held on 6th January before a bench of Abhay Oka.
Anna has mentioned in the PIL that a fraud was committed in Governance by first burdening sugar cooperative factories with debts and thereafter selling the sick units at a very low price which caused a loss of around Rs 25,000 crore to the Government, members of public and cooperative sector.
He has also demanded in the petition that a special investigating team should investigate the matter and alleged role of politicians into the sugar cooperative scam which also includes some big names like NCP president and former Union agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar and his nephew and former irrigation minister Ajit Pawar.
So Pawars have been targeted in the PIL and they have to act as respondents in the case.
Anna Hazare also rigidly asked in the PIL that CBI inquiry should also be there and investigate the allegations of corruption and misuse of government and cooperative funds which involved lease and sale of cooperative sugar factories.
The petitioner has filed this case after getting all information and facts from RTI.
This is best time to file a case of corruption against corrupts as there is already a demonetisation drive going on.
