The chief justice of the supreme court Ranjan Gogoi’s decision to adjourn the hearing of the vexed Ram Janmabhumi Babri Masjid issue to January to be further heard by the three judge bench constituted by the apex court that includes CJI Ranjan Gogoi, Justice S. K. Kaul and justice Thomas has infact rattled the right wing party BJP and its cahoots, especially the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, the fountain head of the saffron party, the Rahtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh and various offshoots like the Bajrang Dal and the Ayodhya Ram Janma Bhoomi Nyas etc.

Majority of the hard core right wing leaders and protagonists of Ram Temple construction, the likes of the union minister Giriraj Kishore Singh etc are specially perturbed, shaken and rattled after the matter was adjourned for January and the chief justice’s version that the court is in no hurry to decide this volatile matter immediately as it is already preoccupied with several other more significant matters thus giving an unambiguous impression that the saffron party which is banking on the early hearing and conclusion of the RamTemple construction at the disputed site in Ayodhya in its favour is actually under the wrong presumptionn calculations.

The union minister Giriraj Kishore Singh who is considered to be a most vociferous hindu fundamentalist having been involved in several controversies in the past for his bitter remarks on religious lines, has expressed his furiousness and anger against the apex court adjournment of the Ram Mandir matter and has gone to the extent of saying that the court is testing the temper of the hindus and if their soared tempers really goes out of hand only God knows what will happen?

It’s in a way allegedly a breach of the apex court say political analysts. Various saints of the Ram Janmabhoomi Nyas and Vishwa Hindu Parishad including their leaders had gone to the Supreme Court with an optimism that something positive and concerete would come out in the hearing on Monday but all their long awaited hopes came down crumbling like the house of cards, after the apex court adjourned the hearing for January saying that the hearing will be resumed by its newly constituted bench which will take its own time in various phases giving a clear indication that the final verdict may take its own time as other civil suits take.

According to the political analysts the BJP leaders and the protagonists of the Ram temple issue were quite confident and hopeful of the early decision in the matter particularly after the previous chief justice and the Supreme court bench had refused to transfer the request to seven judge bench of the supreme court, the High Court’s earlier verdict saying that the the mosque is not an integral part of Islam and that the muslims can offer namaz at any open place.

Some muslim organisations including the AIMPLB had filed a petition against this verdict requesting the earlier 5 judge bench of the apex court to sent it to the seven judge bench for revival which was turned down thus raising the hopes and aspirations of the Saffron party and its various hindu off shoots thinking that court would be in their favour on this vexed issue.

It may be recalled that in view of the general election of 2019 and the pre election commitment of the Bhartiya Janata Party to construct the Ram temple, come what may, mentioning specifically in its election menifesto of 2014 election, the party seems to be bound to fulfil this promise of Ram Temple construction in Ayodhya, the key issue which had been dragged on and on by it since 1992 after the demolition of the Babri Masjid despite the formation of four BJP governments at the centre, thus apprehensive of losing the faith and confidence of the hindu minded people who had been banking on the BJP blindly thinking that at least in the Modi era it will get this long pending issue resolved and Ram Temple built in Ayodhya by hook or by crook as was being giving them to understand by their leaders including the party supremo Amit Shah and the UP chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath, time and again.

Not only this but in the elections of the 19 states where the BJP is in full fledged power, the issue of Ram Temple construction was fully exploited and voters polarised thus reducing the Congress party’s influence to merely two states viz Punjab and Puducherry.

In Karnataka, though Congress is in power but the government is being headed by the JD(S) and the BJP is still the largest party having 104 lawmakers. Therefore it can’t be termed as a Congress government fully.

The point is : now the Narendra Modi government is being pressurised by the RSS and the entire Hindu minded off shoots to bring a legislation in the coming winter session to built a Ram Temple.

This move of the BJP or the RSS whether fructifies or not but the strategy behind it is to impress upon the countrymen, especially the majority community that the BJP led government is still serious on the Ram Temple construction matter and even if the honourable court takes time the government wants that the Ram Mandir imbroglio is resolved once for all through the ordinance/ legislation n Mandir built on the disputed site.

However, everybody know that this latest move is not feasible in a country with diverse cultures, religions, faiths and communities believing in secular ethics and morals but to impress the majority community the saffron party is once again allegedly befooling the people through the ordinance route which is not only impractical constitutionally but anti democratic as well as it will set a wrong precedent in the years to come. What’s your take friends?
