Arjun Rampal lands in legal trouble over non-payment of dues
Arjun Rampal, who was last seen in JP Dutta’s Paltan, has now been emrboiled in a legal controversy which could even cause him imprisonment.
The actor reportedly took loan from a company named YT Entertainment Limited with the notice of repayment within 90 days. However Arjun has failed to pay the amount of Rs. 1 crore with 12 percent interest per annum which he took on 9th May 2018.
This has the company turning hostile towards the actor and slamming him with a criminal charge for their non-payment of dues.
A source told Deccan Chronicle, “The company is also into funding films and Rampal was given the loan on a rate lower than what most people in the industry are usually given. But the post-dated cheque given to the company was dishonoured and now they have filed a criminal complaint against Rampal under the Negotiable Instruments Act for the recovery of the money.”
Adds the source, “This means that they will have the right over any amount being paid to Rampal till their dues are recovered.”
Arjun is mostly remembered for his roles in Om Shanti Om, Rajneeti, Rock On!! and Aankhen. He appeared in the Arun Gawli biopic in 2017, which was titled ‘Daddy’.
The actor has recently been in the news for being spotted with his girlfriend Gabriella Demetriades, post taking divorce from his wife Mehr Jesia.
