Asian Champ Bajrang Punia invites Indians living in US at his Madison square fight on May 6

The heart throb of millions of wrestling lovers in India n abroad and the Asian Champion wrestler Bajrang Punia has appealed to the Indians n Asians living in United States of America to be present in massive numbers at Madison Square Garden in New York on 6th May, 2018 to witness his wrestling feats n subsequently enhance his morale as he would be the first Indian wrestler in the Indian history to have been invited to Madison Square Garden by the US Wrestling Federation.

In a tweet in Hindi Asian wrestling champion Punia has tweeted : I appeal to the Indian wrestling lovers living in New York to come to Madison Square Garden on 6th evening and enhance my morale. I would be the first Indian to have been invited at Madison Square Garden by the American Wrestling Federation.

He concludes his tweet by Jai Hind, Jai Bharat. The tweet acknowleged 24 thousand likes, about 7000 retweets amd over 700 comments congratuating him for his success.

It may be recalled that just yesterday the Wrestling Federation of India has recommended the name of Asian Champion Balbir Punia and last years’ Asian gold medalist Vinesh Phogat for the country’s highest sporting national honour ‘” The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award.

The Wrestling Federation of India has taken the decision after both of them had submitted a written request in this regard to WFI.

A two time Gold Medallist in World Wrestling Championships Bajrang recently secured a Gold in men’s 65 KG free style wrestling event at Asian games Xia’ns China. He also gained the Yellow medal last year too in Asian Games Jakarta accompanying laurels for the nation. Bajrang is an extremely dedicated wrestler of international level who is bound to participate in the world Olympics and accompany Gold for the country in the near future. India is pinning high hopes on him.

Sunil Negi hails from Uttarakhand and is a veteran journalist and author. He is a prolific writer and has carved a name for himself in the media world. He received the 'Golden Achiever Award' in the '90th AIAC Excellence Awards 2019' for his book ''Havoc in Heaven'' based on the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand in which thousands of people lost their lives.
