BCCI TO APPOINT THE HEAD COACH BY EVENING
Vinod Rai, the Chairman of the Committee of Administrators (CoA) put together by the Supreme Court, has toppled the on-going discussion within the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC). The CAC was planning to consult with the Captain of Indian team, Virat Kohli before declaring the name of the head coach. According to sources, Mr. Vinod Rai has told the BCCI to appoint the head coach by today evening i.e. the evening of June 11. Mr. Rai has addressed the Rahul Johri, the CEO of BCCI and also Amitabh Choudhary, who is the acting Secretary of the BCCI and told them to announce the name of the head mentor.
Sourav Ganguly, a member of the CAC had on Monday expressed his intention to consult with Captain Virat Kohli on the appointment of the head coach, with V.V.S. Laxman and Sachin Tendulkar. Their discussion was meant to be about the different coaching styles of various coaches.
Ganguly said that Kohli need to see how various coaches operate and their different coaching styles. They were planning to talk to him after he is back from the trip to South America. Ganguly said that the CAC has considered five candidates for the post seen introductions and talked with five hopefuls including Virender Sehwag, Ravi Shastri, Richard Pybus, Tom Moody and Lalchand Rajput.
