Who doesn’t like Disney movies? They formed a special part of all our childhoods and whether it’s animated or live-action movies, Disney always serves us something new with old nostalgia…. remember all those songs?
So we bring you a list of best Disney movies! Of course, we can’t rank all the hundreds of movies by Disney accurately as different stories mean differently to different people (wow a lot of difference right here). So we chose movies that are considered to be most well-loved or some that show us different yet heart-touching stories.
Also, we didn’t include any technical aspects like production and design but focus more on the whole experience part. After all, even if it’s a technical masterpiece, if the movie didn’t touch our hearts, can it really be considered one of the best? On that note, here is our (in no particular order) best Disney movies –

THE LION KING (1994)See the source image

There is not a single person who watched The Lion King as a kid and didn’t cry. I mean I remember how sad I was when Mufasa died and Simba had to run away. The movie that gave us the loved phrase ‘Hakuna Matata’ and who can forget the iconic beginning! The Lion King remains one of the best classic Disney movies ever made and no one can refute it.

BIG HERO 6 (2014)See the source image

If I was sad while watching The Lion King, Big Hero 6 was devastation. I know it all ends well but when Hiroshi jumps into the fire… damn, my heart leaped out. Watching Big Hero 6 as a teenager was a completely different experience. And of course, this movie is one of the best by Disney because it has… Baymax! Don’t tell me you don’t want a real-life huggable robot… I know you do. Everybody does.

BRAVE (2012)See the source image

The themes and story is so Disney but we can’t deny this movie had impact. Though I said no technicalities but I seriously can’t get over the character design of Merida. It was just so cool! Like most Disney movies, the ending was wholesome and satisfactory too, plus how can you not love this one when it features the most adorable triplets ever!

MULAN (1998)See the source image

We are getting a live-action for this one later this month but nothing can reach the sheer brilliance of the original… I said what I said! I still watch this movie once every month (no kidding) because it is just so inspiring. And oh the songs… and the cinematic parallels… and the jokes… and Mushu! Yep, plenty of reasons for Mulan to be one of the best Disney movies ever.

MOANA (2016)See the source image

The favorite Disney movie of most new generation kids, Moana is still considered one of the better ones by older generations. Whether it’s the songs, the characters or the cinematography itself… this movie is bound to go down as a classic. The animation is beautiful and the scenes are well strung but most importantly, Moana gives some significant messages through a story that is, though fantastical in background, is relatable.

101 DALMATIANS (1961)See the source image

If you aren’t head over heels with this original and oldest version of 101 Dalmatians- I am sorry we can’t be friends. I mean how can anyone forget the original animation and story that blew everyone’s mind and is still much loved after almost 60 years? And not to mention the original songs and the character themes… this movie is seriously a classic.

LILO AND STITCH (2002)See the source image

I will fight anyone who says that Lilo and Stitch isn’t one of the best Disney movies ever. I really will because this amazing film has all the Disney elements, themes and some of the most lovable characters ever! Also some of the best dialogues ever written…See the source image

ZOOTOPIA (2016)See the source image

An adorable bunny who can fight and a fox who is only out for himself team up to unearth a conspiracy. Yep… sounds like true Disney and is as impressive as well. I absolutely loved Zootopia and so did millions of others worldwide. I mean just look at its IMDb rating.

HERCULES (1997)See the source image

Honestly, apart from iconic characters and witty dialogues, this movie would make it to the best Disney movies list just on the basis of the songs and music. Especially those featuring the Muses… like that was some serious power singing.

MEET THE ROBINSONS (2007)See the source image

This movie is the one I personally really like because it gave me the motto I always follow- ‘Keep Moving Forward’. I can’t explain how happy I felt after finishing the movie and how I still find it oddly beautiful that things connected the way they did in the end. It really drives home the message of trust and hope.
