BJP GEARING UP FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION . AMIT SHAH AND PM PLAN HECTIC STATE VISITS
While the non BJP opposition parties are trying, though feebly, to make preparations for unity in the context of the general election of 2019 over enthused by the successes in the recently held bypolls in several seats of Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar and Maharashtra including in Mandsaur local elections compounded with the sucessful Karnataka experiment , the Bhartiya Janata Party and its towering stalwarts viz PM Narendra Modi and national party chief Amit Shah too have tightened their belts to strengthen the party organisation and rank n file at the decentrilsed block level ensuring that it has to win the national polls slated for 2019 with a more heavy margin than the 2014 electoral victory.
Everybody is well aware that while the anti BJP opposition parties posess differing minds and ambitions for the top slot of the country in the BJP led opposition conglomeration, prime minister Narendra Modi is a singular undisputed choice who despite so much of opposition still seems to outweigh the non BJP unified opposition as far as the individual personality cult of his, is concerned.
The basic advantage for the BJP is that its a ruling party at the centre as well as in 20 states of the country and hence is too strong from the point of view of resources of all kinds and nature where as the deflected regional and national opposition parties have overlapping ambitions to become prime minister and also lack sufficient resources as compared to their bete noire saffron party.
Apart from delivering various developmental packages and implementing financial populist measures the ruling party at the centre and in 20 states have an added advantage of using the media in its favour by appeasing them with bigger advertisement offers and other means of obligations.
But in spite of all this it did have a greater risk of losing the three states in view of the anti incumbency impact where it has ruled for two or three terms incessantly i.e. Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chattisgarh, Jhaarkhand and even the self ruled Uttar Pradesh.
The recent by poll victories in Phoolpur, Kairana, Gorakhpur, Alwar, Ajmer, Mandsaur n even in Bihar etc have unambiguously proved the fact that the Modi and Amit Shah charisma could be conveniently countered if the anti BJP opposition at the regional and national level are unified and support a consensus candidate against the ruling saffron party in assemblies as well as Lok Sabha elections.
The formation of the Congress JD(S) government in Karnataka recently, despite the BJP having the largest number individually, have also boosted the political morale of the anti BJP opposition.
The recent sudden decision of the BJP high command and the prime minister Narendra Modi to snap ties with the PDP BJP government of J&K castigating the incumbent CM Mehbooba Mufti of sidelining Jammu n Ladjak regions in the developmental process and failing to counter increasing terrorism n PM Modi’s and Amit Shah’s hectic visit and addressing the massive public meetings including his several months programme to visit every state to interact with paryy workers unambiguously gives an impression that the saffron party has started massive preparations for the 2019 general elections.
The tone and tenor of the fiery speech of Amit Shah at Jammu on 23rd June amidst ranting of repeated Bharat Mata Ki Jai slogans castingating the Congress party chief and PDP’s Mehbooba Mufti gave the clear indication that alarm bells have started ringing for the hectic preparations of 2019 general election.
Moreover the elections in the three BJP ruled states viz Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh are also due just before the general elections where the ruling BJP governments are in a defensive posture due to the sure sort anti incumbency factors.
In Rajasthan the BJP’s traditional vote banks of the Gujjars, Jat’s and even Rajputs are badly annoyed with Vasundhara Raje and the negative outcome was witnessed in two defeats in Alwar and Ajmer by elections.
In Madhya Pradesh despite heavy anti incumbency the increasing farmers suicides and deaths of peasents in Mandsaur where Congress chief Rahul Gandhi recently addressed a huge public meeting and met the family members of the deceased farmers have also set alarm bells for Shiv Raj Singh government who is on the power saddle for more than ten years.
Similarly the increasing Naxal casualties in the Naxal infested areas of Chattisgarh has brought the reputation of the ruling BJP on downward slide having chances of defeats almost certain with farmers suicides on the increase as well.
The challenge for these three BJP governments has enhanced formidably and if the anti BJP opposition seriously unites they can certainly repeat the Karnataka experiment here as well though the Congress Party in the main force in these three states.
Meanwhile the Bhartiya Janata Party high command has started appointing party incharges in all the 545 parliamentary constituencies of the country with 11 member election commitee in each of the Lok Sabha followed by a 3 to six member efficient team of social media in every constituency to propagate the saffron party ideology as well as the local political programmes that would take place before and during the election campaigns.
The party high command is also holding regular meetings with the RSS top brass to sort out the differences if any and give adequate share to the RSS nominees in the parliamentary as well the assembly candidate selection processes due for next year.
The BJP chief has also finalised his hectic tour programme of all the states where he will meet and interact with party leaders, workers and the state CMs as well as the party chiefs to energise and strengthen the party organisation at the booth level.
