BJP slams Rahul Gandhi over ‘secret’ meeting with Chinese ministers
The BJP on Friday targeted Congress president Rahul Gandhi for not revealing to the Ministry of External Affairs his meeting with Chinese ministers during his visit to Kailash Mansarovar last year.
“Truth has a habit of propping up its head. That time the Congress had maintained that Rahul Gandhi was on a personal religious yatra to China. But today he has confessed that during his China visit last year, he met some Chinese ministers,” BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said while speaking to reporters in New Delhi.
Earlier in the day, during a town hall interaction in Bhubaneswar, the Congress chief said, “During my visit to Kailash Mansarovar, I met a couple of Chinese ministers. They told me that job creation is not a problem at all.”
Stating that Rahul Gandhi is not an ordinary citizen but a leader of a national party, Patra said, “This is a very serious issue. Why didn’t he follow the protocol? Why didn’t he inform it to the MEA? Why was the Indian Embassy kept out of the loop?”
He asked, “What conversation did he have with the Chinese ministers? Who are those Chinese ministers Rahul Gandhi had met?”
Patra said that when Doklam stand-off was going on, Gandhi had “betrayed India” by meeting Chinese envoy “in the middle of the night”. “Rahul Gandhi keeps raving about China. Why is he acting as a Chinese propagandist?,” he asked
