Teacher’s Day was celebrated with joy and gusto at the Canadian International School (CIS) today. Apart from students wishing their teachers in a special way by holding up appreciative banners and placards, they also had the opportunity to purchase flowers and cards for their teachers. The School Community Association (SCA) put up stalls selling beautiful roses and thoughtful gift cards for students to purchase. Teachers were treated to delicious chocolates too! Students at CIS hold a yearly tradition of giving flowers to teachers. The flowers are a symbol of gratitude and respect towards the faculty for their dedication and commitment to inculcate the best knowledge and perspectives among the students. Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was President of India, is remembered on this day for his vast intellectual prowess and his contribution to the betterment of teachers.

“It is the supreme art of the teacher to awaken joy in creative expression and knowledge. I believe the teachers at CIS do great justice to these words from the great thinker and scientist Albert Einstein,” said a parent, Mr. Sridhar, appreciating the teachers for their contribution to education and the students’ intellectual outlook and knowledge.
