CM Kejrival to BENGALURU, Go slow by civil servants will continue till his arrival
Though the impasse over the AAP government and the civil servants of AGMUT cadre serving in Delhi government has ended as per the media reports and the Delhi chief minister with his three cabinet colleagues have formally ended their sit in hunger strike at the LG’s official bunglow but in actuality the civil servants of Delhi despite their resuming duties are not satisfied with the negative response they have acknowleged from Arvind Kejrival who despite promising them to talk to them and ensuring complete security and safety has instead meeting them in person has preferred going on 10 days medical leave to Bengaluru for Ayurvedic treatment as his sugar level was up to 400 points and was in acute fever.
The Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia looks over the CM’s charge and works as officiating chief minister in Kejrival’s absence, but the Delhi civil servants are not prepared to talk to him and want direct written assurance from Arvind Kejrival for every pre conditions and assurances that he had made while appealing the civil servants to end their strike.
This adamant attitude of the Delhi government bureaucrat’s unambiguously speaks of the fact that though they have joined their respective duties but they are still on strike, as they are still going slow in terms of their discharge of duties.
There are reports that the Deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia met the Delhi Chief Secretary Anshul Prakash and the Secretary of the AGMUT Cadre Manisha Sharma to give them an opportunity for a meeting to allay their fears and ensure their safety and security in the absence of the chief minister but the civil.servants refused to meet him saying that meeting with Kejrival is more essential than anything else.
And as such they will wait for his arrival to Delhi after ten days. Till then the Delhi civil servants will continue their go slow protest during the lunch hour though their functioning would continue.
Before leaving for BENGALURU the Delhi CM held meetings with the senior officials of power and water departments but did not meet the bureaucrats to fulful his assurance to create an environment of the safety and security of civil servants to allay their fears in the near future.
It may be recalled that the civil servants of Delhi had been on strike for the last 3/4 months in protest against the alleged attack by two lawmakers on the chief Secretary at CM Kejrival’s residence at midnight hours in the presence of the latter where the former was called in connection with an important meeting. An FIR was lodged by the CS Anshul Prakash against the erring MLAs’.
After nine days of sit in protest , Kejrival attended the office at 9.30 AM yesterday and immediately convened meetings one with water officials and other with the power secretary, IAS, Varsha Joshi where in he sought reports about the power and water situation in Delhi in view of the hot summer.
Thereafter he hurriedly left for Bengaluru for natural Ayurvedic treatment for ten days and instructed deputy CM Manish Sisodia to hold meetings with the chief secretary and the civil servants to assure them of their safety and security while functioning.
But the civil servants refused to meet him saying that meeting with CM Kejriwal is essential and that they will wait for him but will continue to continue their protest ” Go Slow”at lunch hour for an hour everyday.
