CONGRESS SPOKESMAN SINGHVI QUESTIONS BJP AND PM FOR THE PROPOSAL OF TAKING AWAY 1.5 LAKH JOBS OF ARMY PERSONNEL
The senior spokesperson of the Congress Party Abhishek Manu Singhvi has questioned the prime minister Narendra Modi about the 1.5 lakh jobs of the Indian Armymen being abolished and slammed the BJP led NDA government for taking this major decision just for saving Rs 5 to 7000 crores for the maintenance of the defence equipments.
He said : this sounds ironical that one the one hand the government levies taxes of eleven lakh crores on the people of India on fuels during the last 4 years of its rule putting them in jeopardy and on the other hand it is contemplating of quashing the jobs of 1.5 lakh armymen putting them and their families in financial quandry.
Senior lawyer and Congress spokes person Abishekh Manu Singhvi while addressing a press conference at Congress headquarter in New Delhi today said that the Modi government should clarify the nation on whether 1.5 lakh jobs are taken away from our army personnels. He also loaded the recorded version of his press conference castigating the present regime for taking away the jobs of armymen and questioning the veracity of the government’s move in this respect.
Singhvi asked whether the government and the defence ministry has deliberated with the chief of all the three forces viz the Army, Navy and the Air force before arriving at such a decision.
While ridiculing the prime minister’s assurance of giving 2 crore jobs to the youths of the country in his pre election rallies the Congress leader Singhvi said that instead of fulfilling his pre poll promise of jobs to the 2 crore employees, over 1.5 lakh jobs of the Army personels are being taken away just to save Rs 5000 crores for the maintenance of the equipments etc.
Accusing the BJP of playing politics and deriving maximum political advantage out of the sacrifice of the Army personels Singhvi said that till now during the 4 years rule of the BJP led NDA about 413 Army personels have been martyred in strife torn Jammu & Kashmir n LOC while in naxal operations about 243 para military troopers and officers laid down their precious lives in the naxal infested areas of the country. This is most unfortunate and uncalled for he added.
