Defence minister Dr. Nirmala Sitaraman meets Abhinandan at RR Hospital to enquire about his health condition

The wing commander with valour and guts being lauded as a national hero in India as symbol of outstanding calibre n bravery worldwide who returned to his motherland just yesterday after being in the enemy country’s captivity for sixty hours is convalescing in the Research n Referral Hospital of Indian Army in Delhi Cantt. Fighter pilot of MIG 16 and son of Air Marshal Kumhakutty Varthaman, Abhinandan Varthaman is being treated n minutely examined at the RR hospital in New Delhi, particularly after confronting the extreme mental n psychological stress in landing on Pakistan soil after ejection from the destroyed MIG 16 n having faced tremendous blows n hitting by the local populace having been injured.

A brave, proud, highly confident and an ablest officer of IAF Abhinandan fearlessly confronted the interrogation of Pak Air n Army officers n never got bullied as a patriotic courageous wing commander of one of the fifth largest Air Force of the largest democracy of the world after shooting down the Pakistan’s F 16, an American made latest technique combat war aircraft in the Pakistani soil n killing its pilot. Abhinandan is currently undergoing various medical check ups n treatment in the Delhi based Army hospital looked after n monitored by senior docters.

His famiy, wife n parents are with him during this critical juncture. He is under complete VIP security. The union minister for Defence Dr. Nirmala Sitaraman who is also from Tamilnadu as is Abhinandan Varthaman, today visited him at the RR hospital at Delhi Cantt and enquired about his welfare and health condition.

She was closetted with the wing commander for about half and hour n discussed various matters including his latest health condition. She also met Abhinandan’s parents and conveyed the government’s gratitude n best wishes for the deed of exemplary bravery executed by their son in the line of duty keeping the nation’s morale high and enhancing India’s prestige globally. The minister also met Abhinandan’s parents n his wife.

Sources reveal that Abhinandan thanked the prime minister Narendra Modi, the Defence minister Dr. Nirmala Sitaraman, the government n the countrymen for the faith reposed in him and making his release from the captivity of the enemy country possible in such a short time. He looked quite confident, calm, composed and cheerful and said that he is fit to join his duty again to serve the nation and coutrymen with the renewed vigour, vitality as well as patriotism.
