DEVANSHI BAGS A SECOND GOLD IN A ROW IN SYDNEY
Uttarakhand is truly blessed to have outstanding ace shooters like Devanshi Rana, hardly 19 years old and bringing for the nation repeated laurels by winning two golds in a row in just a weeks time. Heartiest congratulations to the daughter of 4 times Asian Champion Jaspal Rana, Devanshi who’ve won second Gold alongwith Manu Bhasker Mahima in a 25 metres sports pistol event in the International Junior Shooting World Championship in Sydney, Australia, thus bringing immense prestige and name for India in the global junior ace shooting competition.

Today, entire Uttarakhand is in a jubiliant mood and looking forward to welcome her when she arrives at Dehradun for an overwhelmning reception. Being sponsered by the Oil and Natural Gas Commission Devanshi has to her credit several national level Gold medals in shooting as a child ace shooter prodigy. Prior to this Gold Medal she has won her first Gold just four days ago in Sydney in 10 metre Pistol shooting competition. Devanshi’s father, himself an international Asian ace champion Jaspal Rana is her official coach whereas her real uncle Subhash Rana is her jury.

This is the third generation Gold victory for Devanshi as prior to her her grand father, the former minister UK and President of Uttarakhand Rifle Association has brought laurels for the state and the country followed by her father Kaspal and then herself. Her uncle Subhash Rana, also an outstanding shooter has recently been appointed as the Jury for international Commonwealth shooting games to be held in Goldstock, Australia in April. Devanshi is reaching Delhi on 29th to be received by her fans and friends at the Delhi International Airport.

It may be recalled that Devanshi’s father Jaspal Rana is an Arjuna Awardee and several time Gold winner in Common Wealth and Asian Shooting international Games whereas her mother Riena Rana is also a shooter, a model and TV media personality. Devanshi is currently studying in prestigious LSR college of Delhi. It’s her debut international ace shooting competition where she defeated China winning her first international Gold followed by another today.
