DEVANSHI WINS GOLD DEFEATING CHINA IN THE FINALS IN SYDNEY. PROUD MOMENTS FOR INDIA AND UTTARAKHAND

There is an extremely good news for India and Uttarakhand as the highly talented girl ace shooter and junior national shooting champion and daughter of the several times Asian Champion international ace shooter Jaspal Rana DEVANSHI has bagged a most prestigious Gold Medal in the international junior ace shooting global competition defeating China in Sydney, Australia to be concluded on 29th March.

Devanshi Rana, daughter of ace shooter Jaspal Rana and mother Reina Rana (who herself is a shooter and ISSF judge and a model) participated in World Cup in March 2018 in Sydney. This is her first international competition where she has outstandingly qualified in the qualification round and was among the finalists and Won a team Gold. Under the guidance of her father cum coach international ace shooter Jaspal Rana, Devanshi shot brilliantly and won her first international team gold medal. This is the first international competition for the 19-year-old Devanshi an ex-student of reputed Shriram school, New Delhi who is currently studying at Lady Shriram College.

This is a third-generation spate of prestigious victory for the Rana family bringing laurels for India and Uttarakhand in Junior Ace Shooting Championships by bagging GOLD MEDAL by glorious Devanshi.

Granddaughter of the former minister in the State of Uttarakhand, Narayan Singh Rana who hails from a tiny village in Jaunsar, Garhwal, Uttarakhand. Rana struggled hard in life, served as a Commando with ex-PM Rajiv Gandhi but left the job for his commitment and passion towards ace shooting.

He trained his elder son Jaspal with precision and made it his life’s aim to see his son bringing international laurels for the country and Jaspal did so by bringing 4 Golds in the Asian Ace Shooting never before held by anyone else so far.

Today Narayan Singh Rana’s entire family is an ace shooter right from Sons to daughters-in-law to wife to granddaughters. How diligently and sincerely the Rana family is emotionally attached with their passion for shooting can be gauged from the fact that they’ve opened Jaspal Rana Academy for Ace Shooting at Dehradun and are credited with providing immense training to budding ace shooters likely to brought laurels for their respective states and the nation in the near future.

Devanshi’s father, chief coach and mentor Jaspal Rana and her uncle, himself an outstanding shooter Subhash Rana, one of the judges were present with her when she received the prestigious international Gold Medal in Sydney today after defeating China.

 

Sunil Negi hails from Uttarakhand and is a veteran journalist and author. He is a prolific writer and has carved a name for himself in the media world. He received the 'Golden Achiever Award' in the '90th AIAC Excellence Awards 2019' for his book ''Havoc in Heaven'' based on the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand in which thousands of people lost their lives.
