Donald Trump signs new policy regarding Muslim ban in US

President Donald Trump has signed a new revised policy on travel ban and administration officers feels that this will end the legal challenges faced over the matter by imposing a three months ban on the issuance of new visas for citizens of six Muslim countries.

According to this new revised policy the nation’s refugee program will also be suspended for 120 days and America will not accept more than 50,000 refugees in a year which was earlier 110,000 cap set by Barack Obama.

According to the administrations officials of White House these new orders will come into effect from 16th March 2017.

It is assumed that with this revised travel ban Donald Trump has soften and these new guidelines clearly shows that Donald Trump has taken a departure from its original ban and  now only new issuance of visas have been banned and Iraq has been omitted from the ban.

The new guidelines have also mentioned the specific details required by those people who would be able to apply for case by case waivers to the order, including those people who admitted in the America for continuous working and for study purpose or any other long term activities in the US.

This order has acted as a needed pause, so that the White House can review how they scrutinize people coming from the other countries which are basically Muslim countries as told by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Some Democrats are also of the opinion that the new order was legally tainted in the same way as the first one and it was thinly disguised Muslim ban.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, D said “While the White House may have made changes to the ban, the intent to discriminate against Muslims remains clear, this doesn’t just harm the families caught in the chaos of President Trump’s draconian policies – it’s diametrically opposed to our values, and makes us less safe.”

On the other hand State Department, Homeland Security and Justice Department officials are trying to defend the new order and are of the opinion that the new order is a necessary measure to improve the public safety.
