Eid in #Lockdown: 6 tips to make it special
This year’s celebration for the end of Ramadan will not be the same as lockdown remains to exist in many countries and the risk of coronavirus remains high but that doesn’t mean we can forget about celebrating Eid with the same joy and enthusiasm.
For many years Eid routine doesn’t change like get up, go pray, hug Eid Mubarak, eat, eat, eat, get gifts, go out maybe, or have people come over, and eat again and sleep.
This year, why not we should celebrate Eid in a unique way… Here are some ideas you can discuss with your family to get out of the usual things, which may prove a great jumping-off point for brainstorming:
Decorate the home and set the mood
Get everyone works on this. Decorate your space with lights, balloons, banners, candles and some colorful Eid Mubarak sign to make your home look festive. Set up a corner with some goodies and gifts for your loved one and surprise them with it after Eid prayers.
Dress up as spiffy as you can
Leave behind your pajamas just because we have to be in quarantine doesn’t mean being in your loungewear. Ditch them for sometimes, and dress yourself something amazing, and be in the spirit of celebrations whether you choose to go out or not.
Photoshoot with your family members
Try this superb idea to go with a home-themed photoshoot with your awesome family, for that all you’ve to do is to dress up nicely and gather your family to create a happy memory that all of you can cherish forever with hashtag Quarantine Wali Eid. Get your little one involved in making props or the backdrop!
Virtual Eid
Add a whole new twist to your Eid celebration! Go virtual, Plan a video call with the whole extended family and also include one who is alone on Zoom call or skype to celebrate and them “Eid Mubarak”! (record it for posterity!).
Make special food or order your eid feast:
Plan a special breakfast or brunch for your family it can be sweet, sour, or in-between. While cooking up is not always a good idea. This year, why don’t you just considering the order in. If not a full meal, choose an entrée or just dessert.
Storytime
Well, what better way to know the Eid memories of your grandparents or older relatives.
Plan a zoom or facetime with your older relatives and grandparents and have them to share how they made Eid special with limited resources they had.
Have a wonderful Eid Mubarak! We hope you will celebrate your next Eid surrounded by loved ones, and have faith that we’re going to get through this together. Stay Home Stay Healthy.
