ENTIRE NATION AND UTTARAKHAND IS PROUD OF MAJOR RANE AND THREE JAWANS’ WHO MARTYRED THEIR LIVES FOR THE COUNTRY

Today is really a very anguishing day for Uttarakhand as the India Army brought the bodies of both the martyrs still below thirty years viz Hamir Singh Pokhriyal and Mandeep Singh Rawat at their respectives houses at Kunjapuri, Gumaniwala, Rishikesh and Kotdwar where 27 year old Garhwal Rifles’ valiant soldier Hamir and 24 year old Mandeep lived with their families before consigning them to flames amid 21 gun salutes.

The entire Uttarakhand is in the state of mourning and is immensely proud of these great warriors who’d laid down their precious lives in the line of brave action killing the terrorists in Gurez sector of Kashmir.

Hamir was the father of a daughter while Mandeep who studied at PG College, Kotdwar gave up his life at just the age of mere 24 years. Both the patriotic young bravehearts valiantly fought the Pak sponsored terrorists, killed them but got martyred in the line of action at Gurez sector just two days ago making thousands and thousands of people tearful at Rishikesh and Kotdwar respectively who marched, raising the anti Pakistan and pro martyrs’ slongan all the way alongwith with the fully decorated Army trucks having brought their bodies to their respected houses for ” antim darshan” and finally consigning them to flames at Rishikesh and Haridwar.

Whether it were the Indo Pak wars of 1965, 1972 , the Indo China war of 1962, the IPKF operation in Sri Lanka, the operation Blue Star in Golden Temple, the Kargil war during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure, the surgical strike of 2017, anti terrorists’ operations in J&K n manning our porous borders under extreme challenging conditions till date, hundreds of thousands of our valiant and patriotic soldiers of Indian Army and para military forces which included large number of young soldiers of Uttarakhand have laid down their lives in the line of action fearlessly and unperturbed.

In Kargil war alone about 125 brave hearts sacrificed their precious lives conquering Tololing and various other peaks and teaching a befitting lesson to neighbouring Pakistan by killing its hundreds of soldiers and officers hands down.

It is usally believed that every third family of this Himalayan state has an individual in the Indian Army or the para military forces of the country fully prepared 24×7 to safeguard our borders and the country thus risking their lives round the clock.

Uttarakhand has the largest contribution in India Army, para military forces and the other wings of defence services like Air Force and Navy in addition to the recruits and officers from other parts of the country.

We salute all are Armymen for their valiant and dedicated services to our nation by way of protecting its porous borders round the clock and laying down their lives as and when situations and circumstances warranted so.
