The world is beautiful because there is food in it. Don’t we all agree? After all what would be life if not for food…
So here we are with a list of cities around the world known for their food. These places have ruled the culinary world for long and their reign isn’t likely to end anytime soon.
Let’s have a look –
PARIS
Who doesn’t know about the wonderful food the French capital has to offer? Paris’ cuisine fits the words ‘Elegant’ and ‘Gourmet’ perfectly. Especially if you are someone who is fond of baked goods, Paris’ pastries, caramels and macarons will be a truly delightful treat for you.
TOKYO
The Japanese capital is also a food hub and quite popular worldwide. You can get everything here from traditional Japanese dishes to modern high-end cuisine. But if you happen to be in the area, don’t forget to try the Kaiseki cuisine, which is the ultimate Japanese food.
BARCELONA
If you go to Spain and don’t stop by Barcelona for some Paella (the city’s most famous dish), it’s an unforgivable sin. The seafood and the dessert especially entice one’s senses. The innovative Catalan cuisine will leave you drooling.
SEOUL
There is a song with lyrics… ‘If love and hate are same, I love you Seoul. If love and hate are same, I hate you Seoul…’ but when it comes to food, trust me, it’s all love. And why not? At least 26 Michelin-starred restaurants and dozens of street food markets all over the city earn it a place in a foodie’s ultimate destination list.
LONDON
This one has created its own niche in the culinary world and there is a good reason behind it too. There are a number of high end restaurants in the city but the street food market is what makes it a must-visit place in a foodie’s journal.
ROME
If you have seen the movie Eat Love Pray, the first place the protagonist stops by in search for herself is none other than Rome- to explore the unparalleled food culture of the city (the ‘Eat’ from the title). This recognition is not misplaced as Rome is indeed brimming with culinary treasures.
BANGKOK
The gateway to the South-East Asia, Bangkok’s food scene is pretty strong too. If you are a sea-food enthusiast, this city might just be heaven for you. The flavors and the aromas that you encounter here are truly one of a kind.
