Former finance minister Yashwant Sinha says its a murder of democracy in Karnataka, protests outside Rashtrapati Bhawan
THERE is a wave of resentment all over the country over the unconstitutional move of the Karnataka govenor Vajubhai Vala in installing the BJP government with the swearing in of YS Yedduruppa as the 21st chief minister of the Southern state today, despite the party being 8 MLAs short in numbers for a simple majority in the house of 224, ( with elections not held in two constituencies).
The former union minister and a bete noire of the prime minister Narendra Modi who left the BJP recently, Yashwant Sinha alongwith the leaders of AAP, TMC and social activists under the banner of NATIONAL FORUM, SAVE DEMOCRACY, SAVE INDIA today staged a one day Dharna outside Rashtrapati Bhawan protesting against the unconstitutional formation of the BJP government in Karnataka defying all norms of Indian constitution, political ethics, morality and democracy.
Sitting in front of a huge banner mentioning MURDER OF DEMOCRACY, former finance minister of India Yashwant Sinha tweeted in Hindi that I am staging a sit in Dharna outside the President’s House in New Delhi for registering my protest against the uncontitutional formation of the BJP government in Karnataka. Please come and join me.
On the other hand in the morning today while the swearing in of YS Yeduruppa was in progress at the Raj Bhawan in Bengaluru, the Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, the outgoing chief minister of Karnataka Sidharamaih and the Congress as well as the JD(S) legislators sat on Dharna outside the precincts of the Governor’s house to protest against the open murder of democracy by the governor Valabhai Vaju by installing the government with abject minority.
Ghulam Nabi Azad has also send instructions to all the party presidents and office bearers of Congress in all the states, districts and block headquarters of the country directing them to organise protest demonstrations and Dharna tommorrow registering their protests against the immoral and un constitutional formation of the minority BJP government in Karnataka.
Meanwhile, the son of jailed RJD leader Lalu Prasad Yadav, Tejpal Yadav has also tweeted that he has written a letter to Bihar governor to invite RJD to form the government in Bihar on the pattern of the Karnataka fiasco where a single largest party was arbitrarily given chance to form the government ignoring the claim of the majority. He said since his party RJD is the single largest party in the house, he should too be invited to form the government as was Yeduruppa sworn in as the Karnataka CM.
In a tweet Tej Pratap Yadav said:
How will BJP prove majority? Amit Shah has only one formula, horse-trading or sending agencies like CBI & ED behind MLAs of other parties. It’s dictatorship by BJP. If we aren’t united today then it was Bihar y’day, Karnataka today, can be MP or Rajasthan tomorrow: Tejashwi Yadav.
