Forty Two CRPF Jawan martyred in Avantipora, Jammu Srinagar Highway after fidayeen attack. Several jawans critically injured.
About forty two Central Reserve Police Force jawans have been martyred and about 15 grievously injured today at 3.15 PM at Avantipora, Pulwama in between Jammu and Srinagar national highway when a car cladestinely fitted with over 200 kg of explosive material, RDX by the Pakistan sponsored Jaishe Mohammed Fidayeens ( suicide bombers) was intentionally hit inside the convoy of the CRPF1 jawans going towards Srinagar from Jammu.
The fidayeen who hit the bomb loaded car into the CRPF convoy in known as Adil Fidayeen aka Vakas Commando. News reports say that Adil Fidayeen has recorded a video issuing hate statement against India before going for the sucide mission. It is learnt that he had been chosen by Masood Azar to execute this operation. Adil was also killed in this fidayeen attack.
The explosion was so powerful that it literally killed 42 CRPF Jawans n grievously injured 11 others who been shifted to the near by hospital. A video has been released by Jaishe Mohammed led by hard core terrorist Azhar Masood claiming the responsibility for this cowardice attack.
There were total 78 vehicles in the CRPF convoy ferrying 2547 jawans to Srinagar from Jammu Transit camos to be send in various militant affected locations in Srinagar.
Among those four CRPF vehicles out of total 78, badly impacted by the explosion, a bus carrying about fifty CRPF Jawans was the worst target leading to the martydom of 42 soldiers.
After the explosions three militants who were hiding there also continued the firing on the CRPF convoy in order kill maximum number of soldiers involved in rescuing the critically injureds.
This is the biggest terrorist attack by Pak sponsered militants this year. In 2016 too the Pak sponsored terrorits had attacked the para military jawans on the Jammu Srinagar highway in which 19 jawans were martyred. The Uri attack that killed 18 jawans by the Jaish e Mohammed attack last year was also a high intensity invasion in the CRPF camp.
The CRPF bus carrying 50 CRPF Jawans has been badly damaged with the splinters of the bus spread several metres away in the accidental precincts full of mutilated body parts with blood scattered all around.
The Prime minister Narendra Modi has expressed his shock n grief over the cowardice attack by Pak sponsored terror organisation and said that the martydom of the CRPF soldiers would not go waste. He assured that the entire nation is standing with the bereaved families of the martyrs at this critical juncture .
It will be avenged. The union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has assured of strong retaliation and a befitting reply to the terrorists n their sponsorers. The former CM of J&K Dr. Farooque Abdullah who was quite furious and angered over this cowardice attack termed this as intelligence failure and said that the time has come when the enemy has to be taught a befitting lesson.
Meanwhile reports are pouring in that union home minister Rajnath Singh has spoken to the national security advisor Ajit Doval n IB chief. The union home secretary Rajiv Gauba who is in Bhutan has been asked to cut short his official tour and return back immediately.
The prime minister has also called the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security Affairs tomorrow at 9.30 to disscuss this important issue.
The home minister Rajnath Singh n the Director General of police Rajiv Kumar including NIA is visiting the spot of the tragedy in the morning to assess the situation n gather first hand information.
Meanwhile the general secretary of Congress party Priyanka Gandhi also called off her press conference in Lucknow in view of the dreaded Pulwama incident.
She expressed her condolences towards the bereaved families and said that entire nation is with them in this hour of grave crisis.
According to the Inspector General of Police, Jammu n Kashmir Mr. Pani, a post blast investigation to immaculately go into the circumstances, reasons of the Fidayeen blast, the materials used in IEDs and the ignorance or lack on the part of the authorities concerned is being conducted at various levels to come at a definite conclusion.
