Foundation stone for ICG recruitment centre laid today at Kuanwala, Dehradun

The foundation stone of the sixth recruitment centre at Kuanwala in Dehradun was today laid amidst fanfare in the presence of the Uttarakhand chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and the Director General of Indian Coast Guard Rajendra Singh including his team and good number of cabinet colleagues and bureaucrats.

Both, the chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and DG, Indian Coast Guard inaugurated the foundation stone at the building site in Kuanwala, Dehradun today after Bhumi poojan.

Just five days ago DG, ICG Rajendra Singh had met the chief minister Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat at his official residence in Dehradun and handed over the letter of formal confirmation from Ministry of Defence for the early construction of the Indian Coast Guard’s sixth recruitment centre at Kuanwala Dehradun at the cost of Rs 25 crores.

The opening of this recruitment centre will provide opportunity to the young aspiring youths from Uttarakhand in India Coast Guard services.

This recruitment centre will also give employment opportunies to the youths of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

The work of the building would start at a rapid pace and would be completed in 1.5 year’s stipulated time frame.

The jubilant chief minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat said that the state government had provided five bighas of land for the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment Centre at Kuanwala in Dehradun to be constructed at the total cost of 25 crores out of which the Indian Coast Guard has provided 17 crore as the cost of the land.

The chief minister also said that Uttarakhand being vulnerable from the point of view of ecological disasters and natural calamities, the setting up of the Indian Coast Guard Recruitment Centre here would be an asset as the Coast Guard Recruitment Centre would also impart training to the new recruits and common people to deal with the counter disaster measures and provide relief to victims during such calamities as well.

The chief of the Indian Coast Guard Rajendra Singh who was tremendously intrumental in getting this employment oriented project sanctioned in Uttarakhand said that this new endeavour would prove to bean asset for the aspiring youths of Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and UP who are interested to joint Indian Coast Guard and contribute in the nation building and its security.

He added that that the Indian Coast Guard has with it presently 145 ships and 62 aircrafts which are likely to be enhanced to 200 ships and 110 aircrafts within the next two years.

Rajendra Singh said this new recruitment centre is tribute to prime minister’s statement who had said that in addition to the already existing four Dham shrines , Uttarakhand is a fifth Sainya Dham.

He further reiterated that the construction of the building of ICG recruitment centre would be in conformity with architechtural surroundings, aesthetics and ambience of the vicinity.

This 6th ICG recruitment centre is dedicated to prime minister Narendra Modi’s thought of fifth Sainya Dham.

He also assured that the ICG is also endeavouring to associate itself with the National Disaster Response Force so as to unitedly work together with more impetus and power at the time of natural calamities in the hills of Uttarakhand.
