Four time Lok Sabha n one time Rajya Sabha MP Agrawal files nomination from Chandni Chowk parliamentary seat.

The four time Congress MP n party’s candidate from Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency Shri Jai Prakash Aggrawal today filed his nomination papers at the Alipur D C Office, Shtadhanand road, G T Road alongwith hundreds of Congress supporters and the electorates of his constituency.

The Congress supporters were hailing J. P. Aggrawal by raising Congress party n J. P Aggrawal Zindabad slogans.

He was heavily garlended by his enthusiastic supporters on the way hailing his candidature.

Hundreds of followers joined his cavalcade under the scorching sun till the DC office.

Extremely jubilant Jai Prakash Aggrawal after filing the nomination thanked the large numbers of Congress workers n the electorates for blessing him and enhancing his morale.

While addressing the massive crowd after filing of the nomination papers Aggrawal thanked the Congress president Rahul Gandhi for having reposed faith in him for the ninth time in succession by fielding him from Chandni Chowk parliamentary constituency.

He assured the workers n the voters of his fullest cooperation n support n added that Chandni Chowk is his family where his late father Ram Charanji n he started his socio political career and service to the country.

He reminded how he had been amidst the people of Chandni Chowk in their thick n thin and considered himself fortunate for having given him the opportunity for the ninth time to serve the electorates of Chandni Chowk whom he considered as his family members.

Criticizing the opposition BJP n AAP candidates for literally doing nothing during the last five years for the people of Chandni Chowk as well as Delhi except deviding n splitting the society in the name of religion, castism and communalism Mr. Aggrawal appealed to the voters to vote for Congress n its secular n pro people credentials n policies as it’s primarily the Congress which not only gave India freedom from colonial rule but has also led the nation towards socio economic, industrial, educational n scientific progress compounding with improving the lot of the poor, marginalised classes and the Sc, Sts of the country especially the women who constitute 50% of our total population.

He asked the people to be aware of the anti people, communal and opportunist designs of BJP and AAP and vote for the Congress party for national integrity and progress of Delhi n the country.

It may be recalled that Jai Prakash Aggrawal had been the president of DPCC for six years n represented Chandni Chowk n North East Delhi four time. He was also the Rajya Sabha member of parliament. He was also the chairman of housing committees of rajya sabha and Lok Sabha.

Jai Prakash Aggrawal hails from a freedom fighter family with his late father Ram Charan Agrawal being the eminent freedom fighter and Deputy Mayor Delhi.

Prominent amongst those who accompanied Aggrawal during filing of the nomination papers were former Delhi minister Haroon Yusuf, former MLA Prahlad Singh Sawhney, former MLA Rajesh Jain, presidents of city Congress Committee Mohd Usman n Hari Kishan Jindal, leader of Congress party MCD Mukesh Goyal, etc.

The remaining 6 Congress n 7 BJP candidates too filed their nominations today being the last date. Former CM Delhi Shiela Dikshit, Mahabal Mishra, Rajesh Lilothia, Arvinder Singh Lovely and boxer Brijendra Singh, Ajay Maken all Congress candidates filed their nominations in their area’s respective Deputy Commissioners’ offices today.

From BJP sitting MP n singer Manoj Tiwari, cricketer Gautam Gambhir, singer Hansraj Hans, sitting MP Meenakshi Lekhi, union minister Harsh Vardhan , sitting MPs Bidhuri and Parvesh Verma also filed their nomination papers. The tickets of Mahesh Giri from East Delhi n Udit Raj from Northwest Delhi, both sitting MP’s have been cut this time.

Sunil Negi hails from Uttarakhand and is a veteran journalist and author. He is a prolific writer and has carved a name for himself in the media world. He received the 'Golden Achiever Award' in the '90th AIAC Excellence Awards 2019' for his book ''Havoc in Heaven'' based on the tragedy that struck Uttarakhand in which thousands of people lost their lives. He is also the President of Uttarakhand Journalists Forum and majorly writes on Politics, Current Affairs, and Social Issues.
