Narayan SevaSansthan launched free ration scheme for workers
Narayan Seva Sansthan(NSS) today announced the launch of a new campaign, “free ration scheme for all workers affected by ‘Covid-19’ pandemic”. In the first phase of this novel scheme, 50,000 poor-laborer families will be provided with free monthly rations. The scheme will cover workers as well as the economically weaker section of the populace. Ration to each of these families would include, 20 kg flour, 5 kg pulses, 5 kg rice, 2 kg oil, 2 kg sugar, and 2 kg salt.
Prashant Agarwal, President of Narayan Seva Sansthan, commented “As a part of this new campaign, we would be providing free monthly ration to 50,000 poor-laborer families, in collaboration with donors’ located across India.”
Since the lockdown, NSS has distributed more than 94610 food packets, 51700 masks, and ration materials to 4805 families. A free monthly ration distribution scheme has been launched to ensure that no family goes to sleep hungry.
Mr. Agarwal also commented, “Even before this scheme, over the last 3 months, free ration service has been provided to more than 7000 unemployed families. Food items, masks, sanitizers are also being regularly distributed amongst the needy. We will continue with our endeavors going forward.”
