The former union minister, DPCC president and Congress candidate from New Delhi parliamentary constituency Ajay Makan said that it was the Congress government at the Centre which saved lakhs of traders and small businessmen from the sword of sealing hanging over them.

In an interview carried out in Indian Express today Congress leader Ajay Makan catagorically said that it was the Congress government which brought the special act to prevent sealing in Delhi.

In all 170 amendments were made in the Delhi Master Land ( MPD). About 3000 roads were modified for commercial and mixed land use. Twenty two places where industry concentration was 70 percent or more were declared industrial areas and this is how lakhs of commercial establishments were saved at that time.

On Congress government’s special contribution for the welfare and well being of the central n state government employees of the country Ajay Maken said that there were major anamolies in the 7th Pay Commission’ s recommendations.

It included draconion provisions as the 7th Pay Commission under the saffron party’s regime had unambiguously said that therewould not be further pay commissions.

The increment had come down from 14% to 40%. Hence both the trading community and the government employees in theNew Delhi constituency are badly annoyed with BJP added Ajay Makan.

On the issue of full statehood raised by AAP n its CM Arvind Kejrival, Maken said that the demand for statehood is not in resonance with the negligible strength of two three MPs it had in Parliament.

Makan further said that on the issues of demonetisation, GST and sealing the people od Delhi are badly disenchanted with the saffron party and is interested to get rid of it at any cost. The voters of Delhi know that it’s only the Congress party that can give them due justice and fulfill their major demands. Makan accused the BJP led NDA government as antigovernment employees.

He substantiated his charge by reminding that the 6th pay commission was to be setup in 2003 but the Bhartiya Janata Party led NDA government refused. When Congress came to power in 2004 I sat on an indefinite Dharna n the Commission was created in 2005 n its recommendations were implemented in 2008 with retrospective effect with government employees given arrears in lakhs since 2006.

This is how the Congress government had always been pro traders and pro government employees which forms the 40% or more vote base in New Delhi parliamentary constituency represented earlier for five terms by Ajay Maken.
