Exactly at 12.00 PM Jammu’s main bus stand witnessed a massive grenade explosion today, this being the third grenade explosion in a year’s time. It is being revealed that some extremist or disgruntled anti national element came at the bus stand of Jammu n hurled grenade under the bus in which several passengers were sitting.

About two persons are feared to have been critically injured with grievous injuries while in all 26 are in a government hospital being treated for their severe wounds. The entire area has been cardoned off.

The bus stand/ terminous is quite a congested area full of hustle and bustle n lots of shops around. There is panic n terror all around. The buses stationed at the terminous likely to go to various parts of J& K n outside the state have been asked to give up the movement of buses pending enquiry.

The fruit sellers n the local shopkeepers at the bus terminous are the victims with several of them seriously injured being treated at the Jammu government medical college hospital.

The strong police contingent have been deployed in the area. The bomb dog squads are trying to find out clues behind the incident.

As per the eye witnesses the bomb has been hurled by a mischevious person which all of a sudden caused a huge sound and smoke injuring 26 n with two critically injured. The injured were immediately ferried to government medical hospital.

The police is of the view that the grenade has been brought from outside n it’s a handiwork of a militant organisation. However, so far no organisation or militant outfit has claimed responsibility for the blast.

According to the conductor of the bus, the driver had parked the bus and within two minutes there was a loud explosion injuring 26 persons. It looks as if somebody has clandestinely hurled the grenade under the bus giving no chance to anyone to realize what has happened. There was panic n bloodshed around.
