HOD Economics, Prof. R. S. Negi is the new director of Pauri Campus in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand

Professor R. S. Negi has been appointed as the new Campus Director of Hemvati Nandan Garhwal University’s BGR Campus Pauri, Garhwal Uttarakhand with immediate effect after the retirement of Prof. K. C. Purohit who was given a ceremonial send-off yesterday.

Professor Negi is the head of the Department of Economics in Pauri Garhwal campus. Professor Negi was assigned the responsibility as BGR Pauri Campus director by the Vice-Chancellor of HNB Garhwal University Professor Annapurna Nautiyal.

An academician of repute and well deserved Professor Negi committed to improve and enhance the educational environment and inculcating ethical discipline amongst the students of Pauri Campus has taken the charge as Director on Thursday.

Carrying behind him a vast experience of teaching economics to the students of various degree colleges in Uttarakhand professor Negi started his career as a part-time lecturer in 1986 teaching students of SRT campus in Tehri Garhwal.

He was appointed as a regular lecturer in SRT Tehri campus thereafter and continued imparting lectures in economics till 1990. After 1990 professor Negi was transferred to Pauri Campus under the jurisdiction of Pauri Garhwal district.

Since then he had been teaching the student in Pauri Campus apart from holding various other pivotal responsibilities.

Speaking to Newsviewsnetwork jubilant professor said that during his pivotal tenure as director of Pauri Campus he would duly ensure that an excellent environment of learning and dedication towards studies is created here so that students could enlighten their career prospects and become well-read citizens of the nation through contributing their best in nation-building.

Prior to his joining Pauri campus professor, Negi had been the NSS program chief, chief controller Examination committee, Sub Registrar/ Dean students welfare, member of district literacy committee, etc. About forty of his significant research papers have been published in prestigious national and international journals.

Ten research scholars have completed their PHDs under his capable guidance and four research scholars are continuing their research work under his able stewardship. A thorough gentleman, down to earth and affable in nature professor Negi is a true inspiration for the student’s community of Uttarakhand. Good luck Dr. Negi.
