The newly inducted minister of Human Resource Development in the National Democratic Alliance government n former chief minister of Uttarakhand , 59 year old Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has exhibited a kind gesture n generosity today by personally visiting the residences of both the former MPs from Pauri Garhwal n Nainital and chief ministers of Uttarakhand and sought their blessings.

This unique gesture has send across a positive message especially in Uttarakhand circles.

It looks as if Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank has followed/ imitated the example of prime minister Narendra Modi who after seeking the landslide majority at the hustings has personally visited the houses of his political mentor n veteran leaders, former deputy PM Lal Krishna Advani and former union minister of HRD Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi n touched their feet seeking blessings n putting at rest controversies regarding sidelining them from the BJP’s national politics despite Advani’s patronage to Modi since 1991 when the latter organised a Rath Yatra in support of Ram Mandir from Gandhi Nagar Gujarat to Kanya Kumari.

Modi was then one of the main organisors’ of this pan India Yatra and Advani’s protege.

Similarly, both, retired major general Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri n Bhagat Singh Koshiyari are political stalwarts of BJP in Uttarakhand n quite senior to Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank.

It was because of Bhuvan Chandra Khanduri’s blessings n recomendation that Dr. Nishank, presently minister HRD got an opportunity to become the chief minister of Uttarakhand after Khanduri’s exit in 2008.

Two time member of parliament n HRD minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal has surprised everyone by becoming the lone cabinet minister of HRD at the centre, the ministry once held by stalwarts like KC Pant n Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi including controvertial Smriti Irani.

According to Dr.Nishank he sought the blessings of both the veterans n discussed about various future plans regarding contribution of his ministry in penetrating quality education in Uttarakhand till grass root levels.

It may be recalled that both the MPs during the NDA 1 tenure from Pauri Garhwal n Nainital Udham Singh Nagar have been denied the party tickets due to their being over aged n also not fitting into the loyalty bracket of the BJP high command.

Sources reveal that Koshiyari may be tipped for the governor’s post in the near future whereas chances of Khanduri seems to be dim n quite bleak as not only has he crossed 85 years of age n keeps abnormal health but his son has joined Congress n was the party’s official candidate from Pauri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat having been badly defeated by the BJP’s national secretary and former state minister Tirath Singh Rawat by more than three lakh votes.
