Increase in the prices of subsidised n non subsidised gas cylinders on the first day of NDA 2 govt’s functioning
The chief spokes person of the Congress party Randeep Singh Surjewala has castigated the ruling NDA part 2 government led by prime minister Narendra Modi of enhancing the prices of the subsidised n non subsidised gas cylinders by Rs 1.50 n Rs 25 respectively on the very first day of NDA govt’s functioning. It’s a direct burden on the poor n economicalky deprived classes of the country said Surjewala.
Criticizing the Modi government of increasing the rates of domestic gas cylinders Surjewala said that in 2014 when Congress party’s rule ended the rate of subsidised gas cylinder was Rs. 412 whereas during the last five years it has increased to nearly Rs. 500, an increase of 87 rupees per cylinder.
This means that a family which purchases minimum 12 cylinders in a year will have an additional burden of approximately Rs 1100 per family in a year.
There had been arbitrary increase in the rates of subsidised n non subsidised gas cylinders every four months n those houswives coming under the Ujjwala Gas Scheme would bear the additional burden of Rs. 1100 every year not to speak of the consumers using the non subsidised gas cylinders.
This is a hughest burden on the poor n marginalised class gas consumers exerted on them by the NDA government on the very first day of its functioning.
The Congress party’s chief spokes person Randeep Singh Surjewala was today addressing a press conference at the party head quarter in New Delhi.
He further added that the price of per non subsidy cylinder which was merely Rs 414 in May 2014 is now costing 727 rupees per cylinder meaning a multifold rise of Rs 315 Rs in the past five years of the BJP ruled NDA first government.
This unambiguously results in an exorbitant increase of 3082 rupees in a year for a family using minimum 12 cylinders annually.
Citing another issue of international significance affecting India’s position in the context of the termination of status of India as the Beneficiary developing country i.e. Special Trade Status, Congress spokes person Surjewala said: this anti India US decision will have grave economic implications for India thus directly effecting India’s trade exports worth US $ 64 billions n in Indian Rupees a staggering Rs. 3,80, 800,00,00,000.
He urged the prime minister Narendra Modi to make a comprehensive statement on this matter and in wider interest of crores of Ujjawala n general has consumers take back the price hike in subsidised n non subsidised gas cylinders with immediate effect.
