India will become the engine of global growth assures prime minister Narendra Modi

The prime minister Narendra Modi today assured country men that India has become a powerful engine of world growth where not only will the foreign investment increase manifold but the country will also witness immense employment opportunities.

He said that under the country’s over ambitious flagship Ayushman Bharat Insurance Scheme more than 50 crore Indians , a population more than that of the the entire Europe would get free treament to the tune of Rs 5 lakh each for critical illnesses amid cheers from the audience.

The prime minister said that in the sectors of health, fuel, employment and housing for all the nation has gained tremendous progress resulting in the all round welfare and prosperity of the countrymen in terms of making them economically, socially and culturally strong and self reliant.

Prime Mnister Narendra Modi was today addressing the foreign delegates, entrepreneurs , chiefs of corporate houses of the country and abroad, lawmakers of Uttarakhand and the delegates from Uttarakhand and India at the Uttarakhand Investors Summit, 2018 in Dehradun.

While assuring countrymen of the ongoing progress of his government Prime minister Modi said that India is going through a period of rapid socio economic and industrial transformation.

He said it is widely accepted that India will be a major engine of world growth in the coming decades. He said the speed and scale of economic reform in India is unprecedented.

The prime minister said about four hundred Railway stations and more than hundred airports n helipads are being constructed n modernised in the country to enable easy connectivity including opening of more than 100 waterways in the country which would also generate tremedous amount of employment for the youth of the country apart from ensuring easy connectivity.

In this context of the country achieving high growth rate and transforming itself rapidly as a developing international business destination , the prime minister mentioned that India had improved by 42 ranks in the Ease of Doing Business rankings.

The Prime Minister spoke of the reforms initiated in taxation the taxation sector and added that the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code has made doing business easier.

The Prime Minister said that the implementation of GST is the biggest uniform tax reform since independence.

He added that this has transformed the country into a single market, and has helped increase the tax base.

Accquainting people of the country about the progress made in the infrastructure sector Prime Minister Modi said that the infrastructure sector is progressing rapidly and multi dimensionally.

He spoke of the fast pace of road construction, railway line construction, new metro systems, high speed rail project, and dedicated freight corridors.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the progress made in the aviation sector, and in providing housing, power, clean fuel, health and banking services to the people.

He said the recently launched NDA gvernment’s over ambitious Ayushman Bharat Insurance scheme will spur the development of medical infrastructure in the country that would help more than 50 crore people achieve treatment of all the critical illnesses and surgeries to the tune of Rs 5 lakhs , the population more than he entire Europe.

Lauding the achievements of the BJP led government in Uttarakhand Narendra Modi said that New India is a great destination for investment, and “Destination Uttarakhand” represents this spirit.

He spoke of the measures taken for investor facilitation in the State. He also spoke of the progress made in initiatives being taken for improving connectivity in the State, including the Char-Dham all weather road project, and the Rishikesh-Karnprayag Railway line project.

The Prime Minister spoke of the State’s immense potential in the tourism sector and also added that initiatives being taken in the food processing and renewable energy sectors are worth apreciating and laudable.

The prime minister said: I appreciate the Uttarakhand Government for their work in furthering connectivity across the state. This augurs well for the state which is blessed with the nature, culture and has a big potential in tourism, particularly in adventure

He also mentioned the achievements of the “Make in India” initiative.

Prior to his speech the prime minister alongwith the UK governor Baby Rani Maurya, chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat and the state’s tourism minister Satpal Maharaj visited the exhibition show casing the state’s progess in various sectors and also watched a brief documentary on Utarakhand Tourism.

It may be recalled that the Uttarakhand government has so far signed the MOUs’ of over Rs 80 thousand crores with foreign and domestic investors for doing business in 43 items / products in Uttarakhand including power from (perule) the pine needles project etc. The government expects to achieve even more in the near future under its over ambitious Uttarakhand investors summit initiative.
