Indian Wrestlers in WWE

It is well-known how popular WWE is in India. Everyone, from young to old and boys to girls seem to enjoy watching it for a multitude of reasons. And though most of the wrestlers featured in WWE belong to different nationalities; there are quite a handful India wrestlers among them as well.
From The Great Khali to Jinder Mahal and Kavita Devi- Indian Wrestlers have succeeded in making a name for themselves in WWE among the legends. Let’s have a look at some of them –

GAMA SINGH

The WWE Indian Wrestler from the 80s- Gama Singh was active in the years 1980 to 1986. Though he grew up in Canada since the age of 9, Gama Singh, whose real name is Gadowar Singh Sahota was born in Punjab.

THE GREAT KHALI

Who doesn’t know him? The most famous Indian Wrestler in WWE, he even stood head to head with legends like the Undertaker and John Cena! His exceptional debut and subsequent journey in the WWE is something to cite as well. Dalip Singh Rana, going by the name Khali, is a legend in his own right. Apart from being a champion in the wrestling ring, he has also worked in a number of Hollywood and Bollywood projects.

KAVITA DEVI

She has been a part of many promotional matches for WWE and has been a part of Wrestle Mania 34 and Women’s Battle Royale. Though she doesn’t have any big victories under her name at present, she has still performed brilliantly and her talent shines through. Much is expected from her in the future being the first Indian woman wrestler in WWE. Oh and she is a Asian Games Gold Medalist as well.

JEET RAMA

Debuting in the live Delhi show of WWE, Jeet Rama created quite a stir and caught the eye of WWE officials. Though he is still mainly participating in the live events, he is expected to make his television debut soon.

JINDER MAHAL

Once a comedian, Jinder Mahal is the nephew of Gama Singh and brother-in-law of Khali. He has made a place for himself in the WWF and is one of the top heels in Smack Down Live. His journey is quite an interesting one- from the unconventional career change to his hard work for attaining the WWE championship. He fought hard for his dream to come true and was able to not only pull through but create a name for himself as well.
