Jacqueline Fernandez to join Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Aankhen 2’?
The casting for Aankhen 2 is currently underway. The sequel of the 2002 heist thriller is being helmed by Anees Bazmee and stars Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role. The legend of Hindi cinema played the central part in the earlier film, too.
Says a source, “There are five primary roles in the film — four men and one woman. While Mr Bachchan leads the team, Paresh Rawal (another actor who was seen in the first movie) has been offered one of the roles. A-list actors have been approached for the remaining two male leads.”
But it seems the makers have zeroed in on an actress for the female lead. Our source adds, “Anees is busy with the shoot of Pagalpanti in London but before leaving, he already spoke to Jacqueline Fernandez for the role. Jackie is keen on doing the film as she will be the only heroine in the project. Plus, it’s a power-packed role and they wanted a good-looking actress who was well versed with action, too. She’s verbally agreed to be a part of it. But the complete narration will happen once the filmmaker returns to Mumbai.” If Jacqueline is finalised, then she will share screen space with the Big B after a decade. They were last seen together in the former’s debut filmAladin. When we contacted Anees, he said, “We have almost finalised the whole cast of the film.
Mr Bachchan has been signed officially. Once the formalities are done, the producers will announce the cast.”
