The Congress president Rahul Gandhi said that their fight is primarily with prime minister Narendra Modi and the BJP with a view to protecting the institutions of the country viz Constitution, Supreme Court, democracy and the fourth estate, etc.

Mocking prime minister over his first press conference on 17th May, Congress chief Rahul Gandhi ridiculed the event by saying that it was amazing n unprecedented as the prime minister finally accompanied BJP chief Amit Shah at the party headquarter for his first ever press conference.

Rahul said lots of journalists were not even allowed to attend the press conference for the fear of asking hard questions and all the doors of the Press Room were closed.

Rahul expressed his bitterness n annoyance with journalists saying that while they put extremely hard questions to him but when it comes to interviewing prime minister Narendra Modi they ask silly n simple questions like : how does he lick mangoes, where does he buys his half sleeve Kurta from and does he know how to bake chapaties etc.

He skipped the direct queries of the journalists about his party’s performance saying that 23rd May is not far and they will know everything on that day. He added: he is not here to prejudge the mandate of the people of the country.

Castigating the Election Commission of India for openly favoring the ruling party Rahul Gandhi said while answering a journalists query that the way entire election schedule was designed n conceived it makes crystal clear that it was done so to help the prime minister n his party.

He also had reservations on the way no action had been taken on the highly objectionable speeches of prime minister Modi as well as Amit Shah whereas others were penalized.

Looking extremely confident and satisfied after his country whirlwind campaign tour Rahul Gandhi thanked the countrymen, the media and the Congress workers at the pan India level for their everlasting cooperation n support.

Answering a question on the future support of BSP, SP n other non BJP opposition parties Rahul Gandhi said that we all are together as everybody has only one unambiguous aim and it is to keep BJP out of power.

He said the entire non-BJP opposition in the country has closed all the doors for the BJP n Modiji and despite the Congress party out of the pact with their like-minded parties in UP n West Bengal they are all one and united to fight the BJP.

On the question of his party’s strategy in Uttar Pradesh despite being kept out of the BSP, SP n RLD alliance, Congress chief Rahul Gandi said that he had clearly instructed Priyanka n Jyotiraditya Scindia in UP that their first strategy should be to ensure that they fight the BJP ideologically, do not harm the alliance in any case n strengthen the Congres party in the state so that in the coming state elections the Congress emerges as a strong political force.
