Kargil Vijay Diwas: Bollywood celebs paying tribute to #BharatKeVeer

While the entire nation is celebrating India’s victory in the Kargil War as Kargil Vijay Diwas today. BTown celebs are not left behind took to Twitter to pay tribute to the martyrs for their sacrifices for the nation. Leading the charges were actor Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgan, Sidharth Malhotra & Akshay Kumar.

Sharing a video the ‘Padman’ actor shared a heartfelt post on Twitter along with a video paying tribute to the martyrs. In this video, he sings the ‘Teri Mitti’ song from his movie ‘Kesari’ and the actor was absolutely touched by it. In the post, he saluted the jawans and said that if his small efforts reach the people then there is nothing more he can ask for. He ended his post with a hashtag- #BharatKeVeer.

 

He also shares another post where he recommended the book to his fans and tweeted, “I’m not much into books, but today as we pay tribute to our brave martyrs on 20yrs of #KargilVijayDiwas, I’ve picked up #IndiasMostFearless 2 by @ShivAroor & @rahulsinghx . May we never forget our soldiers whose courage and heroism let us live in peace, day after day.”

Whereas, BigB tweeted a short film released on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. he captioned, “To the brave shaheed of our Army .. I had the honor to give my voice for this creative film.. but if ever been asked to give my blood for the nation, I will … JAI HIND (sic).”

Actor Sidharth Malhotra, who is playing the role of Kargil martyr Captain Vikram Batra in his upcoming film Shershaah tweeted, “Salute to our braveheart soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the honor, integrity, and people of India. I feel privileged to be portraying one such character in #Shershaah Jai Hind #KargilVijayDivas.”

Vicky Kaushal, who played an Army Officer in URI: The Surgical Strike, took to Instagram and wrote, “Happy and honored to share that our Film #UriTheSurgicalStrike will be re-released only for today, July 26th, to commemorate Kargil Vijay Diwas’. It will be screened for free in 500 theatres across Maharashtra. Extremely thankful to the Maharashtra State Government for their support and encouragement to this initiative by @rsvpmovies. Jai Hind (sic).”

Farhan Akhtar gave tribute to the brave soldiers and wrote, “Remembering all the Bravehearts and martyrs with love, reverence, and gratitude on this #KargilVijayDiwas .. Jai Hind.”

Kargil Vijay Diwas is celebrated to remember the pride and valor of soldiers who took part in the 1999 Kargil War. It celebrates India’s victory over Pakistan.
